Snack and a Commercial is an offbeat video series about making creative snacks during economically hard times. The short videos originally aired as part of a half-hour Comedy Central show called Atom TV. Each new snack concoction is presented by a slightly agitated host (Eddie Pepitone) who has a big gut and a big New York accent. His kitchen is a mess, and he uses a checkered ironing board as his workspace. He prepares precisely one new snack per show, sometimes while wearing his bathrobe. Whether making mayonnaise on a spoon, homemade cough drops or just teaching viewers how to inject fear into ordinary ingredients, the host takes his job very seriously. Every show has one commercial break which is equally strange. One ad is for a toy robot that says arbitrary non-robot things. Another commercial urges viewers to invest in Fun Bucks. The desperate garage sale commercials star Jamie Flam who also writes and directs this series.
