Rex chose a Stacey Tookey number from the Top 6 show as one of his favourites; in introducing it, Leah said:
Leah: This is the story of a woman gone mad and her lover, who realizes that, although he doesn't want to, he must let go. Here with another Stacey Tookey piece are Tara-Jean and Everett.
However, the number was danced by Tara-Jean and Vincent, and Leah corrected this afterward.
(explaining her inspiration for her choreography in the Top 10 number)
Mia Michaels: This past week, I resigned from the US show after five years. This piece is representing the place where I was when I was making the decision. The light represents my new beginning. You have to see your future, and you can't just sit in what's comfortable, you have to go on and keep challenging yourself.
Rex Harrington: You dance with a wisdom and depth beyond your years, and you transfer from each style... and you broke my heart, so I can't really forgive you for that. But the piece that you did by Stacey... it could have been schlock, it could have been taken not seriously, and you tapped in to such an emotional depth, that for someone of your age, I applaud you for that, 'cause it takes years to find that; that is what will make you a star, and that is why you are a star. So I wish you the best in the future, and good luck.
Blake McGrath: You're an absolute gentleman on that stage, a superb showman, and you've murdered every single style, and I think you've probably done every single style as well, so just... congratulations, I'm really, really proud of you. It's been an honour to work with you, and I'm excited to see how your future unfolds; good luck tonight.
(about Jayme Rae)
Kenny Ortega: Jayme Rae... soulful, fiery, you are a powerhouse. I'd make a movie with you any day of the week, my darlin'... you are excellent.
Tré Armstrong: Everett, every time I look at you, I wasn't sure if you thought you'd make it this far; but I always did. You have the talent, you have the strength, you have the confidence, and you bring joy to everything you do. So you're going to have a very long career, my friend, I feel it.
The season 2 finale was 2 hours long, and aired from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. (Eastern) on October 25, 2009.
