The last city and the only city to host auditions for all 8 seasons of So You Think You Can Dance is Los Angeles. Nigel Lythgoe and Mary Murphy are joined by Tyce DiOrio. Cat Deeley is present to interview all of the hopeful dancers. Cat explains the auditioning process – great dancers get a ticket to Vegas, not so great dancers get sent home and dancers that the judges are not sure about are asked to stay until the end of the day to learn choreography.
Here are the featured auditions from Day 1 in Los Angeles: Jordan Casanova, performed a naughty Beyonce routine and earned a ticket to Vegas; Derion "DC" Chapman, taught Nigel a new move and gets a ticket to Vegas; Arielle Coker, having auditioned in seasons 4,5, and 7 she blows the judges away this season and gets a ticket straight to Vegas; Hero McRae, came to the US from Japan 4 years ago and earned a ticket to Vegas with a popping routine. Eight more dancers earned a ticket to Vegas after the choreography round.
The highlighted dancers from Day 2 were: Joe "Big C" Doyle, performed a Santa krumping routine and was passed over by the judges; Alexis Mason, sister to season 5 winner Jeanine wowed the judges and earned a ticket to Vegas; Patty Anne Miller, a hip hop dancer and drummer earned a ticket to Vegas; sisters Natalia and Sasha Mallory performed the last audition of the day and were sent on to choreography. They joined 28 dancers in choreography at the end of the day. Sasha and Natalia both earned tickets to Vegas and were joined by 9 other dancers.
Auditions are over and 160 dancers have earned tickets to Callbacks in Vegas.
