Jessica, who made the top ten last week with Comfort's elimination, must step out of the competition due to an injury. Comfort has been invited back into the competition. I would have liked a change-up here, since Nigel announced that the judges would have preferred to eliminate two girls and keep Thayne last week - bring Thayne back and really juggle the couples. Two guys dancing on the series is not unprecedented.

Generally thinking, this show provided the best and worst dancing of the season. Kherington was completely off of her game in both the Country and Jazz dances she performed. The Country dance was slow, awkward and, seemingly, under-rehearsed. A really good two-step would have brought down the house.

The best pairing of the evening, by a great margin, was Will and Katee. Performing to Sit Down, You're Rockin' the Boat from Guys and Dolls, they took creative Broadway choreography totally unrelated to the original number to a whole new level. With a modern-dance Pas De Deux, they just blew everyone away. In a class by itself, it ranks with the great numbers ever seen on the show - Hummingbird, The Bench - it wouldn't be out of place in the rep of, say, The Joffrey.moreless
  • Fantastic choreography all night long. I know some think the Two-Step is too country, but it was a perfect installment in a genre of style that has been missing far too long.moreless

Some shows have one or two bad dances that hurt the dancers' chances of success, but tonight's episode was pretty clean, with fantastic dances and the dancers were excellent (for the most part) in displaying these dances on the floor. The solo dances were fantastic. Great episode displaying all the real specialness of this series.

    OPINIONS/SPOILERS

My wife hates Comfort as much as most of those who post on the TV.COM forum do...I like her. I was glad to see her back, and think she is a better dancer than what I saw from Jessica, so I thumb my nose at those who think otherwise. :c)

I would also like to point out to those who are Will-haters of the before mentioned forum, the difference in how he danced with Katie over how he danced with Jessica. The difference was palpable. That last routine was so amazing, the difficulty levels of what those two accomplished was staggering. I watched it three times, wincing every time it came to the mistake, but dang...that was just wonderful. That two step Mark and Kher danced was a hard dance too, but it was like a 7 compared to an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10. I don't think any of the other guys or girls in this show could have done as well on this dance...I know Mark is a fave of a lot of those on the forum, but he wouldn't have even come close. Josh might have done okay, he is really good at adaptation and his chemistry with Katie might have helped, but no, Will owned this one. *claps for the unappreciated (because on this forum, he really is)*

I see Comfort leaving next though; she hasn't done nearly as well as the other four girls that remain (the HH dance was great, but otherwise she has been just okay) I see Kherington being in the bottom just because of the crap she pulled during her routines...very off night for such a great dancer...I don't think she's as good as the other three girls though, so I see her going next week.

I don't know on the guys...I just don't know...seriously, any one of these five winning is fine with me (as with the top three girls), they all have proved they are outstanding. I like them all. And if the judges' bias toward Will means America decides not to vote for him, I'm okay with that too, because like I said, I think all five are outstanding, admittedly, Will's was the weakest solo out of the guys this episode, but the strongest couple performance...I guess I'm ranting because I've read so many of comments on the TV.COM ripping on an obviously talented guy, it's not his fault nigel, mary, mia, etc like him...or maybe it is. *shrugs*

All said and done, I will be sad at whoever is going next episode, they are all so talented. Sorry if I am giving those of the TV.COM forum all the stink-eye, but imo they have been pretty unfair. *shrug* imomoreless
