The show starts off with Cat Deeley introducing the top 10 dancers: Caitylnn, Jess, Clarice, Marko, Jordan, Mitchell, Melanie, Ricky, Sasha and Tadd. Cat explains that they are no longer paired together and will begin dancing with SYTYCD All-Stars. Judges, Mary Murphy and Nigel Lythgoe, are introduced along with special guest judge, actor Neil Patrick Harris. In addition to dancing with the All-Stars, the Top 10 dancer will each perform a solo routine.
Marko is paired with All-Star dancer, Chelsie Hightower from Season 4. They perform a Samba routine choreographed by Jason Gilkison to Cinema Italiano (The Ron Fair Remix) by Kate Hudson. Neil calls Marko the guy to beat. Mary called him the "real deal." Nigel said he's ahead of the field.
Sasha performed her solo to Syrup and Honey by Duffy.
Jordan is paired with All-Star Brandon Bryant from Season 5. They perform a Contemporary routine choreographed by Dwight Rhoden & Desmond Richardson to Who Are You (Live Acoustic Verson) by Jessie J. Mary called Jordan fierce. Nigel told dance fans to wake up and start voting to keep Jordan in the competition. Neil said he couldn't take his eyes away from Jordan.
Jess performed his solo to Come By Me by Harry Connick, Jr.
Tadd is paired with All-Star Comfort Fedoke from Season 4. They perform a hip-hop routine choreographed by Chuck Maldonado to Look at Me Now by Chris Brown featuring Lil' Wayne and Busta Rhymes. Nigel thought Tadd out-danced his All-Star. Mary believes Tadd is something special.
Melanie performed her solo to You're the One That I Want by Angus and Julia Stone.
Mitchell is paired with All-Star Melody Lacayanga from Season 1. They perform a Broadway routine choreographed by Tyce DiOrio to Take Off With Us from All That Jazz (soundtrack). Neil thought it was pieced together and didn't understand it. Mary thought it was overdone. Nigel thought Mitchell over-performed it.
Ricky performed his solo to Daylight Breaks by Cassidy Haley.
Clarice performed her solo to Royal T by Crookers featuring Roison Murphy.
Caitlynn is paired with All-Star Pasha Kovalev from Season 3. They perform a Tango choreographed by Miriam Larici and Leonardo Barrionuevo to Malajunta by Orquesta Color Tango. Mary gave her a standing ovation. Nigel felt she danced like a woman for the first time this season. Neil thought it was slow at first but then got hooked.
Mitchell performed his solo to This Time by John Legend.
Sasha is paired with All-Star Twitch Boss from Season 4. They perform a hip-hop routine choreographed by Christopher Scott to Misty Blue by Dorothy Moore. The audience goes wild after the performance and Nigel was almost speechless. Nigel loved the chemistry Sasha had with Twitch. Neil called it the best routine of the evening and "spectacular." Mary asked for the paramedics because she was having a "hot-attack."
Jordan performed her solo to Tonight by Lykke Li.
Jess is paired with All-Star Kathryn McComrick from Season 6. They perform a Contemporary routine choreographed by Stacey Tookey to The Lonely by Christina Perri. Neil loved the choreography but gave Jess weird advice about his face. Mary loved the whole routine. Nigel thought he did a brilliant job with all of the lifts in the routine.
Tadd performed his solo to Everything I Can't Have by Robin Thicke.
Melanie is paired with All-Star Pasha for a Viennese Waltz choreographed by Jason Gilkison to Everybody Hurts by Tina Arena. Mary thought Melanie was floating throughout the routine. Nigel agreed and called her a brilliant dancer. Neil thought she was effortlessly perfect and called her his favorite.
Caitlynn performed her solo to Cosmic Love by Florence and the Machine.
Ricky is paired with All-Star Allison Holker from Season 2. They perform a Jazz routine choreographed by Tyce DiOrio to Precious Things by Tori Amos. Nigel loved the choreography and thought he matched talent with his All-Star. Mary called the routine deliciously dark.
Marko performed his solo to More Than Anyone (Stripped Version) by Gavin DeGraw.
Clarice is paired with All-Star Robert Roldan from Season 7. They perform a Bollywood routine choreographed by Nakul Dev Mahajan to Aila Re Aila from the Khatta Meetha soundtrack. Neil loved it. Mary thought it was intricate and hard. Nigel didn't think it could be done any better.
