Ivan and Allison's contemporary dance really was the highlight of the evening. I can understand why Mary the judge cried. I was so moved by that performance. Not only did I believe that they were in love but I'm starting to think maybe behind the scenes there really is some sparkage going on between the two of them. I'm actually a little bummed that starting next week it will be solo performances because this couple was unstoppable. I think with the crowd, Benji and Donyelle have the most command because their chemistry is so light and fun but Allison and Benji clique best as dancers I think. They can entertain without all the funny stuff becasue their dance just speaks for itself.
Last week, Nigel told Heidi that she throws too much of her personality out into the open. I didn't think she could have any control over it but this week, she came out in a gorgeous but not flashly dress and you really saw her pull back that over the top personality and she was just the picture of beauty. I felt like I was watching her dance for the first time. I think in this dance, Ryan kind of faded into the background but being that it was a cha-cha, I think he did his job: to show the girl off and just support her.
It was nice to finally see Musa in his element! And I don't care what those screaming masses of girls say... Musa is way hotter than Dmitry. Musa really is about teh dance.. at some point I think Dmitry just came to love the attention way too much.
Donyelle and Benji were a hit as usual but I didn't get the whole Broadway feel from them, and I'm a new yorker.
Travis is an exceptional dancer. As is Martha, but I think Nigel was right when he said that somewhere along the way, she lost her uniqueness. She better get it back in time for next week.moreless
