i really didnt agree with the judges tonight. the ones they really liked, i didnt really care for. mary even said jessica and will were the "couple to beat" after their tango. ??? i wasnt impressed. my personal favorites of the night as far as routines go are kourtni & matt (with mandy moore's jazz routine), josh & katee (with napolean and tabitha's hip hop routine), and chelsea h & mark (mia michaels' contemporary routine). i really wasnt sure how josh and katee would be as couple but they gave my favorite performance of the night... even though i feel like shooting myself every time i hear that d@mn jordin sparks song. other couples i liked (but didnt like the routines) were kherington & twitch and gev & courtney g. and the personality award goes to comfort.moreless

So You Think You Can Dance season 4! I'm writing this review as I watch the episode. Can't wait to see how Susie, Kourtney, Chelsie H, Twitch, and Mark perform! Hopefully this season will be just as good or better than the previous ones.

Rayven and Jamie is fist up with a hip hop routine. Liked it, didn't love it. Once again Dan offers criticsm which makes no sense at all. Rayven was really good for a contemporary/ballerina, and Jamie was pretty good for a ballroom dancer. 8.4 out of 10.

Susie and Marcquis are second with a smooth waltz. I think it's hard to dance the Smooth Waltz and keep it controlled, escpecially for a Salsa and Contemporary dancer. I noticed the lift right away, and I was a bit scared the judges might degrade their performance for that. Ouch moment there, but other than that it was really good. 9 out of 10.

Kourtni and Matt with a Jazz routine. Dan wasn't helping at all. I liked it, Mandy Moore's choreography is stunning. Matt was a little bit like a wall out there, I didn't see personality from him. Kourtney on the other hand was hawt, she had it out there. Again though, the lift was bad. It landed rough and heavy. I think they might be in danger. 7.9 out of 10.

Chelsea T and Thayne do the Cha-Cha. It was hawt. They did extremely well, Thayne was just out there having a blast and the hips were shaking everywhere... so much energy. Chelsea also did well for a Contemporary dancer. 9.2 out of 10.

Two of my favorites Chelsie H and Mark perform a contemorary routine. I loved both of them, Chelsie being a ballroom dancer looked stunning in the dress and pulled it off. Mark is so unique and I love his style of dancing. 9.2 out of 10.

Kherington and Twitch take on a Tyce Diorio broadway routine. Twitchington, lawlz. Twitch was nice, but Kherington was on fire. Her face just lit up when the music went on, astounding. I didn't expect that from her. 9.2 out of 10.

Chris and Comfort dance the Jive. The performance level was high, the technique was lacking a bit though. I noticed how Comfort's legs were straight and not low enough. Chris was getting low though, which balanced it out more. Dan was right saying they need to find their chemistry, not much showing in that dance. 8.3 out of 10.

Katee and Joshua do a hip hop routine. I really disliked Katee before this hip hop routine, but she was amazing. At the beggining of the performance Katee was just bleh, but when Joshua joined her the chemistry started to form. I liked this hip hop routine better than the first one. 9.2 out of 10.

Jessica and Will will (lawlz) be dancing a tango. It wasn't my favorite, but it was nice. Will was definetly masculine, but Jessica kinda felt awkward in some places. I usually pay more attention to the female when it comes to tango, so this performance was a bit dissapointing for me. 8.5 out of 10.

Courtney G and Gev dace a Disco routine. Dorianna's choreography is kewl, but like Sabra and Dominic in season 3, these two might find themselves in the bottom 3. They did good for being in different styles. 8.6 out of 10.

Over all it was a really nice first episode, lots of tough competition this year. I am not really thinking of any of them in the bottomn three yet... too bad six of the 20 dancers who performed tonight will have to dance for their lives tommorow.moreless

    • Mary: Kourtni, boy, you look sexy out there tonight all in that leather!

    • Nigel: I think I need more personality Matt, from you. You've been trained very well, you're a very upright dancer, it's like someones taken a broom stick and shoved it where the sun don't shine.
