Episode Recap

At the beginning of the episode, the audience votes from last week are revealed with Destini and Ryan cut from the competition.

At that point, the competition continues in the same format as last week, except this week reveals a new twist; when the females pick their partner, the males pick two dance styles. Each pair will dance twice, each time to a different style, but they will not hear from the judges until after the second dance. This week, Dan, Nigel, Mary and Brian are the judges.

The first pair of dancers is Nick and Kamilah. They dance the Mambo to "Mambo Cool." Next, Blake and Melody dance in lyrical style to "Heaven." Artem draws Ashle's name, and she draws the Fox Trot. They dance to "Fever." Last, Jamile and Melissa dance Hip Hop to "Can't Stop, Won't Stop."

The first couple to dance again was Nick and Kamilah. They danced Contemporary to "King of Pain." The judges said good things about their contemporary pieces, but they were unanimously unimpressed with their Mambo. Next, Artem and Ashle danced the Cha Cha to "El Sabroso Son." The judges gave mixed reviews of both performances by the couple. Blake and Melody drew disco style for their second dance, and they danced to "You Should be Dancing." The judges loved their lyrical performance, but the reviews were mixed on the disco portion. Jamile and Melissa took the stage for Melissa's second shot at the Paso Doble. They danced to "Spanish Gypsy Dance" and the judges did not have nice things to say about it.

In round 2, the couples put up for elimination were Ashle and Artem and Melissa and Jamile. These dancers each danced as individuals with Ashle dancing to "La Corrida," Artem dancing to "Don't Phunk with My Heart," Melissa dancing to "Gone" and Jamile dancing to "You Dropped a Bomb on Me." Following Jamile's dance, voting was opened to the audience.
