      • Jodie: (to Carol) If you marry me, I promise that I will never look at another man again.

      • Elaine: Your mother needs hormones!

      • Danny: (about Elaine) Ma…ma, you don't have to kill her, 'cause we got a plan!
        Burt: Mare…listen…it's a great plan.
Mary: Oh, good, what is it, a knife, poison, what?
Burt: We're gonna kill her…with kindness.
Mary: You're gonna kill her with kindness?
Danny: That's right, and I think it's time to get started.
Burt: Ya' see, what he's gonna do…is not let her dress, eat, sleep—nothing. Because there isn't anything good enough for her. And she can't get mad because…it's all done in love, you see? He's gonna kill her in kindness.
Mary: …If that doesn't work, can I just kill her?
        Burt: Sure.

      • Mary: I am going to go to college.
        Elaine: Does the college know?
Bob: (screaming with laughter) Does the college know!
Elaine: You know it may come as a shock to you, things have changed. For instance, they no longer use quills and parchment

      • Jessica: (about Dutch) Well, Eunice, it's very hard for me to approve, I mean the man's a convicted killer! But then of course, so is Daddy…
        Eunice: And an embezzler, too.
Jessica: Yes. So it's hard for me to disapprove, too.

      • Jessica: Arnold was a rat.
Dr. Kanter: Well, personality aside, I still feel if we could locate this Arnold and bring him to Mr. Tate, uh…
Jessica: Oh, no, that's not possible doctor. Benson killed Arnold.
Officer 2: (Arresting Benson) All right, we don't want any trouble put your hands flat on the wall…
Officer 1: I had him pegged from the start; there was something about his eyes.
Benson: And of course, the color of my skin's got nothing to do with it.
Jessica: Stop that, Arnold was a real rat.
Benson: A pet rat, a rodent. I killed him with a broom.
Officer 1: Oh. I still don't like those eyes of his.
Benson: That's nothing. I don't like your entire body.

      • Jessica: I don't know how much longer I can stand this waiting.
Eunice: Don't worry mother, I'm sure we're gonna hear soon.
Billy: You'd think they'd have a pinball machine or something around here.
        Jessica: Billy!
Billy: Hey, a person can be sad and still play pinball at the same time.

      • Chester's Doctor: As I understand it, there has been a recent unpleasantness.
Jessica: (to Mary) Is he referring to the murder or the stock fraud?
