Hi, I'm working on a television special for the Fox Network which will focus on the funniest moments that have been broadcast on TV from the 1950's to the present. We would love to know what you guys think are the funniest moments from Soap, and which episodes they occurred on (if you know). Your thoughts are very important to us...we want to hear from the experts!

Thanks in advance for your responses. Darrell

you can't forget the discussion on Mickey Mouse's dog's sexual orientation. Don't know which episode it was but it was a classic

I know that it is from season two. I think that it was either the tenth or the eleventh episode. I only know that it was after Chester disappeared trying to find himself and before Jessica hired Detective Donahue.

I watched it the other night and on the dvd it was episode 11, which would have made it episode 12 in syndication because the first episode of season 2 was 1 hour long.

Another great moment is also from season 2 after Sally tells Mary about Burt's "Affairs" and Mary leaves Burt. Burt, Jodie, Danny, Chuck and Bob are at a bar and they are all drunk. It's totally hilarious.

I almost forgot about that! Then they leave Bob on the table and said that he would pay for the tab! Season Two was probably the most memorable season of Soap.

When Elaine prompts  husband to be Danny on their wedding day, "The Rabbi says he's gotta leave in ten minutes. He's got a bar-mitzvah, two funerals, a bris and tickets to Pippin."

What about when Burt shows up at Sally's apartment, drunk, and ends up on top of the coffee table?

When Jessica was on trial for killing Peter and she got up and started singing and dancing in front of the jury. That's the stand-out momemt for me. If I saw it now I would still laugh at it.

    Episode 35

Jodie: Aunt Jessica, many important people in history were gay Alexander the Great, Socrates, Plato....

Jessica: Mickey Mouse's dog was GAY?!

Jodie: (after a huge of amount of laughs) Yeah, Goofy was his lover.

    So many episodes, all great!

over the course of a few episodes Chester Tate's amnesia takes on a few persona's Cheddar Plate, Gloria Swanson, Marlena Dietrich etc.

A funny one with Danny and Burt trying to shave in front of a mirror (Danny wore "wife-beater" t-shirts a lot, boy was he hot!)

and of course (as mentioned by previous posters) the bar scene with the boys and leaving the dummy, Bob, with the tab

    Burt's invisibility

Doris Roberts hysterical, suicidal Catholic mom

The whole scene where Chief Of Police Tinkler is at the Tate's house naming the suspects and why...Bob calling Benson 'Sambo' and Benson settling Bob's hash ever after and hilariously...Benson whistling 'BOOM!' to scare the major into taking cover...Anytime someone would argue with 'Bob' for several sentences to only then realize that they are yelling at a puppet...Benson standing up to the devil quoting his mother...Eunice finding Billy'snudie mag and Billy standing up for himself and the factthat he 'likes naked ladies' (in episode #1 of season #1 I believe)...When Benson, Chester,The major and the P.I. break Billy out of the cult facility, performing as 'The Step Brothers'and Jessica, seeing them before they left the house all disguised in black-face paint just assuming Benson was entertaining some friends...Jody hiding Bob in the fridge and Chuck desperately freaking out looking for Bob...Danny & Bert simulating the car chase if they become sherif and deputy...Danny asking to go undercover as 'God', Bert explains that nobody knows what God looks like, and Danny, so proud of himself and so enthused, happily cries 'THAT'S why it's the perfect disguise!'...when the Mob godfather tells Danny he has to killl Bert. (paraphrasing here) "Tell Bert you want to go fishing...and kill him." Danny asks incredulously "Take him fishing?" as the exasperated godfather explains "Well Danny, if you tell him the real reason you are taking him to the cabin, he may not want to go"... The alien who was to be Bert's double jumping for joy because he gets to sleep with Mary, as a bemused Bert looks on...The Peace Of Chelief...Bert, transforms to 'invisible mode' and justs taunts someone at the Tate house by making faces at him and getting right in the guys(I forget who)face with his own, like a chicken pecking thinking he can't see him doing it...too many moments to name, what a show!
