  • The series changed from Terror Of Tales to Somerset Maugham TV Theater, after only 3 episodes and lasted only 2 seasons. This series was based on written novels each week. The shows were live, but the author appeared before and after each on tape.moreless

    W. Somerset Maugham hosted the series after the 3rd episode. The show alternated with Robert Montgomery and was shown live.
    Some of the episodes were "The Dream" with Joan Bennett on Feb 14 1951, "The Moon and the Sixpense" with Lee J. Cobb in April of 1951 and
    "Cakes and Ale" with June Havoc on May 28, 1951.
