  • Lovely story. Very, very sad.

I think that this was a very sad episode. It must have been so hard for Tails to do such a thing and kill Cosmo! I mean, he LOVED her! Poor Tails.... It was very fortunate for the crew that the chaos emeralds zeroed in on Sonic and Shadow. Cosmo must have been very unsure of herself before her mother spoke to her. This just proves one thing: never give up. Somewhere, somebody needs you. And, you have some sort of power. It doesn't matter what other people think of you. Just be yourself. Again, very, very sad story. I almost cried when I saw this one. Note: Stop hating Cosmo people!!! She never did anything to you!!! Sheesh!moreless
  • The Final Battle to save the Galaxy, this one would have to be the most upsetting Episode ever. This is one of the episodes that you have to watch in Japanese because the English version does not explain this very well.moreless

I would have to say this was the saddest episode of Sonic X that was ever created. It explained Cosmo's death, and how she was the only one who could end the battle, since she was the same species as the metarex. Cosmo weakened the planet by planting herself on it. This, however meant that she could not move, after this, and so could not survive the Power Canon, which was destroyed, due to such high energies, and the fact that Sonic and Shadow were both being fired from the canon, rather than just one of them. This could also be due to the fact that they were both charged, Super Shadow and Super Sonic. Cosmo told them that firing the canon would save the galaxy, but Tails could not do it, and lose the love of his life. Cosmo persuaded him to fire, in the end. One shot from the canon, it hit the planet directly on, and the viewer sees Cosmo floating away, saying to Tails "I love you".moreless
  • "And the heart that is soonest awake to the flowers is always the first to be touch'd by the thorns." - Sir Thomas Moore (1779-1852)

It was very risky. To lead a major protagonist to the death. The Sonic X scenarists needed a lot of courage to accomplish this.

While a lot of things occurred during that episode, everyone who watched it stick on Cosmo's death. It's very easy to understand. The concept itself is tearjerking, but what makes it even more, it's the way it is represented on screen. However, a huge mistake has been made: the omission of the very final scenes (which were in the original and French versions), which are even more intense and tearjerking and which could have provided even more emotion. These scenes could have made the episode even more perfect. Every soul aboard the Blue Typhoon-Egg Carrier appear with a saddened face to what's happening. It's a very strong image, which proves that the most shocking situations make everyone to feel the same way.

And what can I say about Tails? I won't hide it, he's my favorite character and I was very curious about the way he was going to react. I have to say that the final result corresponds to my expectations, except maybe the moment where he pushes the button. Other than Cosmo's death and the others' reactions, there are also a lot more to cherish. Especially in the beginning, where Dark Oak tries to steal the vital energy from everyone's body. These are very special scenes. And ultimately, it leaded to Cosmo's decision to take the situation into her own hands.

The beginning scenes also deserve some special attention. The images of Cosmo as a newborn show a lot of emotion and they're very heart-warming.

Overall, it's the most unforgettable episode of the second season. Maybe the best, but certainly the most memorable. While there's one episode remaining, Sonic X fans and casual watchers should be pleased by that episode and they'll never forget it, I know it.

    P.S.

    Rest In Peace, Cosmo

    We'll never forget you.moreless
  • This episode is so sad, that I cried. I feel really bad for Tails that he lost Cosmo. He's my very favorite character, that's why I'm TailsFan5000.

When I saw an AMV of this episode on YouTube, I just had to see the original one, and when I did, I cried. It was just so painful to watch Tails, so heartbroken when Cosmo sacrificed her life to save the universe. Then, yesterday (March 24, 2007) I saw the Japanese version, and the ending was very dramatic, especially when Tails banged his head and fist on the table and shouted out Cosmo's name. I really thought the Japanese version was better than 4Kids' dub because the voice acting was better and it added more drama to it instead of 4Kids who ruined the whole thing. I'm beginning to hate 4Kids. Overall, if you're a Tails fan, get ready to feel some pain.moreless
