  • In this episode sonny and chad finally addmitte they like each other. Tawnie shows how smart she really is.Grady and Nico dont really have a big part in this episode.

in this episode sonny and chad tell eaach other they both like each other.Chad is filming a movie about his life( The Chad Dylan Cooper Story). Chad decides to have the real So Random! cast to play their parts except for Sonny because he thinks she has a diva personality. So, he decides to hire Selena Gomez to play Sonny in his movie. At first, Sonny thinks she could be Selena's new best bud. But then, this all changes. Sonny makes fun of Selena's Wizards of Waverly Place character, Alex Russo, (by creating a new sketch) because she is angry at her and jealous. Selena also makes fun of Sonny. Selena realizes that Sonny and Chad like each other, but Sonny and Chad say that they don't and call her a relationship wizard.Sonny and chad start using bull horns whilee yeling at each other saying things. Then selena says they dont like each other to make them admit that they do. Chad admits he likes Sonny and that he thinks she has pretty hair, while Sonny admits she likes Chad and thinks he has sparkly eyes. At the end, Selena quits the movie for another movie called 'Camp Hip Hop' and Chad gives Sonny the part. Meanwhile, Nico and Grady meet lookalikes of themselves and Tawni ends up thinking they are the real thing.moreless
  • Chad is filming a movie of his life and he casts Selena Gomez to play Sonny's role.

Now when I first started watching this show, I totally hated it. And the sketches were and still are horrible. But as the show went along and I kept giving Sonny a chance the sketches became less and less important and the stories were actually pretty good. And the thing that I think also helped were the chemistry between Chad and Sonny. And of course the performance of Tawny who on most nights actually steals the show even if they push her to the side for Sonny night after night.

And than they made an episode like this one. And this one was a total homerun out of the park. The Wizards of Waverly Place stuff was hilarious. The inside jokes were very funny and the script within a script within a script were very well done.

I really have nothing bad to say about this episode except maybe one thing. I felt the Camp Hip Hop bit bombed out big time. It just looked very corny with the fake Jonas brothers dancing hip hop in the background behind Selena. But it was still funny and the way they put it over was still kind of funny on some level too.

Great episode. I think they still might be rushing Chad and Sonny's relationship a little, bit but I feel with Chad's ego in the way they probably will be having a roller coaster relationship for a good long while. And I'll still be there giving Sonny a Chance.moreless
  • Chad is the star of his new movie, and casts Selena Gomez to play Sonny.

Wonderful, I love Selena Gomez and Wizards and it was awesome that she got to guess star in this episode. This episode had tons of Wizards references, and it had Selena point out the fact that Chad and Sonny really liked each other. Of course, they keep denying it in till the end where Selena uses reverse psychology to make them squeal. My favorite parts where when Selena followed Sonny around with that tape recorder, and the ending when she was featured in Camp Hip-Hop. Those fake Jonas's and their bodyguard where just awesome. It is sorta odd though on why Chad casted Selena to play Sonny. They look nothing alike.moreless
  • This episode is still pretty funny.

I really enjoyed this show so far. It's make me feel like I really want to watch that episode and this is my favorite episode mostly. This episode is pretty cool and interesting. But Selena is pretty weird and quiet as I seen on "Battle of the Networks' Stars" But I loved that episode than "Cookie Monsters" I really loved "Cookie Monsters" episode so far! Because this is both best episode ever I've enjoyed. "Sonny With a Chance" is much better and not borning as I thought. I hope they'll enjoy that show forever. May the Force be With You.moreless

Probably the best episode of Disney Channel's series "Sonny With A Chance" This episode was actually really funny, it didn't even feel like I was watching an over the top Disney series, maybe a comedy on ABC Family, still not that great, but still good. Selena Gomez guest stars and I'd like to say she held this episode together, but that's not true, honestly, the whole cast did a great job on this episode.

I was actually impressed with the writers and I loved the Disney Channel references such as the "Relationship Wizard" or "Camp Hip Hop" or "being best friends with Selena Gomez" Real life references that I'm sure everyone got a laugh at.

The Sonny and Chad relationship isn't that interesting but it definitely developed with a nice ending even though this episode had the worst cold openings of TV history tonight, it was still a really good episode, might tune in for more.moreless

  • NOTES (5)

    • International airdates:
-Latin America: July 12, 2009 on Disney Channel Latinoamerica.

    • For this first 13 episodes, Demi Lovato (Sonny) won the 2009 Teen Choice Award for "Choice Breakout TV Star-Female".

    • With this episode, "Sonny With A Chance" places itself out of the continuity or "the universe" where other Disney Channel shows occur. There have been episodes which have occurred or coming up of "That's So Raven," "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody," "Hannah Montana," "Cory in the House" and "The Wizards of Waverly Places" where their characters have interacted and even became friends. Since Sonny, played by Demi Lovato, recognizes Selena Gomez plays a wizard on TV, it is likely that Sonny's series does not occur within the boundaries of the described "Disney Universe" of characters.

    • Allisyn Ashley Arm who plays Zora was not in the episode.

    • Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez met on Barney and Friends and have been best friends ever since.

    • Selena (as Sonny): Of all the eyes, in all of Hollywood, I had to stare into his.

This is a play on the line Humphrey Bogart (as Rick Blaine) speaks when he first sees Ingrid Bergman (as Ilsa Lund) walk into his cafe, Rick's in the 1942 movie classic and best picture Oscar winner Casablanca: "Of all the gin joints, in all the towns, in all the world, she walks into mine". The last part of the line is often misquoted as "she had to walk into mine."

    • Cashmeris Appearis.

This is another spell from Wizards of Waverly Place. Alex uses it to make a sweater appear in the episode "You Can't Always Get What You Carpet".

    • Edgebonoutoosis

This is the first spell ever enchanted on Wizards of Waverly Place. It allows you to duplicate any object as long as you concentrate on it while saying the spell.

    • Scary Potter

This is a parody of Harry Potter.

    • Sonny: I say, good day, wizard!(steps back) I said good day.

This is similar to how the character Jackson Stewart (played by Jason Earles) speaks on Disney Channel's Hannah Montana. He says, "I say good day, Daddy! I said good day!" also similar to the character of Fez on "That 70's Show" who was well known for getting upset at some one and saying "good day". When the person would try to explain he would interupt them with "I said good day."

    • Sonny claims that Selena Gomez is some kind of "wizard" on account of her being a know-it-all. This is a reference to the Disney sitcom Gomez stars in, Wizards of Waverly Place.

    • Selena: I don't need this! I was in Camp Hip-Hop.

"Camp Hip-hop" is a play on Camp Rock, a Disney Channel Original movie starring Demi Lovato.

The three guys dancing behind Selena in this scene were a play on Jonas Brothers, who were also in Camp Rock. Behind them is a security guard which is a play on Big Rob the Jonas Brothers' bodyguard, who sings with them in the music video of their single Burnin' Up.

    • Episode Title: Battle of the Networks' Stars

This is a reference to the show Battle of the Network Stars, a reality show that put teams of stars from one network against another network's stars. It first aired in 1976.
