  • Pitiful for a begginng of a up and down show.

    2.0
Wow. The pilot usually sums up the show pretty well. This just sums up how this is gonna be a long ride.

The begginning sketch wasn't that great, and they really didn't talk about how Sonny won. Sonny's relationship with Tawni is just on dimentions. And do we really need 3 comic relif characters? Let alone 2 goofballs? And here's the biggest insult; sketches. Now, isn't that suppose to be the big thing?

Well, no. The sketch of the begginning is horrible, of course, and the bee song was terrible.

So, if I hate this episode so much, why I gave it a two? Because it saves it self with a catchy theme song, and somewhat inventive character Zora. And, also, because bee costumes are so cute.

Bottom line, I shouldn't be watching the beggining. Way to start off a series, Disney!moreless
  • It can be explained in 3 words. God not original.

    4.0
In a world of XD, the normal Disney channel can has no reason not to appeal exlcusivly to 6-14 year old girls. This is the fallout of such. The show is kinda Scienfield in nature, Hannah Montanna in way to do it. The fisrt epesiode is pretty much unoriginal. New move for a "normal" (Wichonson is not normal,Michigan is)girl, ZOMG WHINEY CARACTER!!!, the heroine wins in the end. End. Next, the cliche jokes are carp. *sarcasm vioce* Yay, Dawson's Creek! Yay, bad bee puns, yay .... * In short, God not originial.

i thopught this episode was a great 1st episode, when tawni got jealous, that was so funny. i LOLed so hard at this episode. i hope there are more funny episodes for this show, i think i see a new hannah montana. i think this episode was WELL WRITTEN, i loved the 2nd episode. i think zora is hilarious, with her voice. nikko and grady are very funny. i think the jealosy between tawni and sonny will end. and chad is very funny, he is cool. i think the directors chose some great characters for Sonny with a Chance and So Random (jk about so random)moreless
  • Sketchy Beginnings is about how a small town girl from Wisconsin gets a role on a sketch comedy called So Random.

    7.0
This episode was a good pilot episode that introduced all the characters and how they act. I think they could have a made this episode better if Chad Dylon Cooper was in the show more. I like the rivalry between Tawni and Sonny that was really funny right away they established that Tawni is the superficial character, Nico and Grady are the crazy guys on the show, Zora plays the creepy little girl who lives in a vent or a mummy's tomb which ever one she feels comfortable in. Chad is the person who thinks is the the greatest actor in the world.moreless
  • Pilot episode.

    3.5
Sketchy beginnings? That's right Disney Channel, this was a very sketchy beginning to the series because it was so downright awful. As a pilot episode, where's the character development? How did Sonny win? What did she do on the internet? Who who were her other contestants?

Just not a lot of development, not enough it being the pilot episode and all. Sonny with a Chance later on becomes a fair show, but this was just a bad beginning to the series. Is the first sketch in the cold opening really supposed to catch my interest? Sonny with a Chance had a problem here that it's always had. Comedy that only makes people with the attention span of a four year old laugh.

If I were to watch this episode back in 2009 when it premiered, I would urge you to change the channel to Nickelodeon where great comedy is found. But now watching this show for about a year, I can tell you, it does get better. But it can deliver really bad episodes like these.

Overall: cliche humor, no laughs, no development, unoriginal storyline, some intriguing entities but in the end, what do you have? A bad episode of Sonny with a Chance, the pilot at that!moreless
