Season 4 started slow in my opinion, with no real threads to carry the storyline forward. The series of events leading up to "With an X" seemed piled together with no real direction or purpose. The end of this episode is however as intense and yet delicate as the sum-it-up-cliffhangers of "The OC" or "One Tree Hill" at their best, i e their early seasons. Noah Gundersen's song encompasses this fact in a great way.
