Not even as good as the Pilot which was dismal at best. One of the things I think I enjoy the least are the heat jokes. Living literally in the Sonoran Desert of Arizona myself, Tucson actually is a fairly mild climate compared with a lot of the towns and cities to the North and West like Yuma, Gila Bend, etc. or even generally Phoenix for that matter. Yes, it does get hot, but not generally to the oppressive levels they keep trying to show. I guess this is going to be a recurring theme. Who doesn't want to watch Tyler Labine sit around, sweat, and complain about how hot it is!?!
The episode begins with all of Ron's equipment shorting out or melting because of the heat including his fan. So it's off to a local yard sale to buy some more stuff. There we meet Glenn played by Joe Lo Truglio and his wife Angela played by Sarayu Rao. It seems that Ron and Glenn were best friends until Angela made it clear to Glenn he was never to see Ron again.
Also, Glenn use to do a little breaking and entering when he and Ron were younger. Ron gets the brilliant idea to scare the children into letting him inside for protection. You can just imagine where this all goes.
I once again reiterate, why did they cancel Reaper! I know, different production companies and different broadcast networks, but there is absolutely no comparison of this show to that one. The ratings were slightly better for this episode than the Pilot, but I'm sure not what FOX had in mind when they bought this show for airing on Sunday nights. I'll give it a few more weeks myself. If you stopped watching already it wouldn't have surprised me. Thanks for reading...
