    • TRIVIA (2)

    • QUOTES (2)

      • Nataku: I'll recover before you do.
Raishinshi: If you don't stop stealing my lines, I'm gonna pop you one, boy! (hits Nataku on the head with his crutch while laughing) Ha ha ha!

      • Taikoubou: (talking to Shinyoh and the army of birds) Now what are you going to do? If you withdraw, we'll leave you alone and even help the injured. But if you don't withdraw now, we'll beat you senseless, we'll dip your wings in sweet-and-sour sauce and eat you!
Sibuxiang: Actually, Doushi aren't supposed to eat meat, master.
Taikoubou: It's just a cool line! Why do you have to correct me all the time!?

    • NOTES (6)

      • Character Description: Shinyoh

Shinyoh serves his master, Su Kokuko, the Lord of the north, faithfully as his spiritual beast. A large white bird with black markings and a bulbous red "clown" beak, Shinyoh commands all birds and other bird-like spiritual beasts. Following his master's orders, Shinyoh can summon a bird army which significantly bolsters Su Kokuko's military might. He can also use his bird scouts as spies to eavesdrop on important affairs. Unlike most spiritual beasts, Shinyoh is fairly outspoken and will freely interject his opinion into the conversation.

Shinyoh's spoken Japanese is unusual, ending most sentences with "gumo." In English, this is roughly comparable to ending every sentence with a bird-like noise (like "squawk"). The way in which Shinyoh says "gumo" alters the specific location of his words.

      • Character Description: Su Kokuko

Su Kokuko becomes Lord of the North when word finally reaches Su Castle that his brother, Su Kouko, has died imprisoned at Chouka. A forthright and virtuous man, Su Kokuko detests Dakki's scheming and wishes to have nothing more to do with politics. As the newly appointed Lord, Su Kokuko wishes to focus all his energy on rebuilding the North from the state into which it fell under his brother's rule. Highly suspicious of the West (and the force of their approaching army), he will not be bulldozed into joining forces with Ki Shou's rebellion. After dueling with Ki Hatsu, Su Kokuko is finally swayed by Ki Shou's humble and sincere pleading.

Immortal Su Kokuko's master is Senkyo Shinjin. Shinyoh serves as Su Kokuko's spiritual beast.

      • Character Description: Tai-itsu Shinjin

Tai-itsu Shinjin gets more than he bargained for when he rescues Nataku's ashes from the riverside. After reviving Nataku as the reincarnation of a lotus, Tai-itsu Shinjin becomes his master, training him in the ways of the Immortal World. Judging from Nataku's hotheaded temperament, this is by no means an easy job. Tai-itsu Shinjin also serves as Mount Kunlun's "fix-it-all" mechanic, haphazardly piloting a Koukin Rikishi down to Earth to repair Nataku and Raishinshi's Paopei after the Shisei battle. As the two belligerents' bickering mounts into a raging skirmish, the Koukin Rikishi (which was doubling as a repair bay) gets wrecked. When Taikoubou's party heads to join up with the Seiki army, they leave Tai-itsu Shinjin to repair his damaged ride home.

Tai-itsu Shinjin is a member of the Twelve Immortals of Kunlun.

      • Ki Shou finally manages to persuade Su Kokuko into having the North join forces with Seiki.

      • Ki Shou plays the Chinese Fiddle again.

      • The Yin princes, Yinxiao and Yinhong, return at the end of the episode. They are now adults.
