      • This was one of the best performances of the group. It showcased that they have matured as far as their stage act as well as their music. The album they are promoting, "Get it Together," is one of their best and most under appreciated efforts.
The excitement and energy of the Soul Train Gang let the J5 know that they have another major hit on their hand during their performances of "Dancing Machine" and "Get it Together." A top notch performance. A+++++

      • Starting with this episode, Soul Train has a new theme that gives the show its famous identity, "TSOP (The Sound of Philadelphia)" performed by MFSB and also became a big hit in its own right in 1974.
The opening sequence had the animated train chugging around a city blowing funky fire out from its smokestacks and go through a tunnel into the set where the dancers dance to the theme. The set this time has the large title on the stage, but with the train tracks attached to each word.
