When the burglars threaten Stan with a knife the blade has the engraving "Kill All Betrayers."
This was the same knife that Trent Boyette had in the episode Pre-School.
When Stan names the other Avengers, he uses their alter-ego names: Bruce, Tony and Kurt. The Hulk is Bruce Banner, Iron Man is Tony Stark, but Thor's name would either just be Thor, or Donald, depending on if he were using movie or comic canon. There is no Kurt in The Avengers.
Stan: (after seeing Stan raging) I think there might be something wrong with dad.
Sharon: Ya think?
This title is from Wes Craven's classic "A Nightmare on Elm Street".
The whole episode is an allusion to the Stanley Kubrick's movie The Shining (1980) based on the Stephen King's novel with the same name. The storyline and the music are quite similar.
