Episode Summary

When the boys travel to Aspen and hit the slopes for the first time, Stan has a run in with one of the locals and is challenged to a race. The grand vacation begins when the boy's parents are offered a free ski trip to Aspen, but of course, there's a catch: they have to attend one meeting about time-share opportunities. Meanwhile on the slopes, Stan has a run in with one of the locals and is challenged to race the best skier on the mountainmoreless

What I liked: Cartman dipping the sleeping Butters' hand in warm water and then peeing on him, Stan dealing with that older skier, the older skier's son about him just saying "Stan Darsh" over and over, that older girl the skier 'stole' from Stan, the ending with the kids complaining about how stupid skiing is, "You're gonna have a bad time!", the parents not being able to leave the timeshare presentation.

I did not like this episode a lot the first time I saw it, but I rewatched it and it was really funny. Lot of great moments and very few things I did not like (aside from Cartman giving Butters a so-called Hitler I loved everything). A+ episodemoreless

This episode is so incredible, it inspired the creation of http://OwnSouthPark.com - where you can buy an actual square inch of the real South Park for 99 cents. No true fan can be without one.

No kidding - we inherited land in for-real South Park in Colorado (the setting for the show), and we couldn't figure out what to do with it. It's far away from, well, everything. Some friends thought it would be cool if we'd sell a piece to them so they could own a piece of South Park. Then other South Park fans they knew wanted them since it turns out there's no other way for a fan to buy real land in South Park (without spending thousands of dollars). When I looked at the map of the land I saw it was on "Kickapoo Road" and snorted pop through my nose -- so that sealed the deal and we set up the OwnSouthPark.com site. You get a deed certificate and maps showing where your land is, you can see photos of the are a, and people say the faq is fun to read. You can go visit your land in person even. :)

Check it out and spread the word - http://OwnSouthPark.commoreless

This has to be one of my favorite episodes of all time. The boys go on a ski trip to aspen meanwhile the parents get pressured into buying a condo. The boys all learn how to ski and a hot shot skier named Tad continues to annoy Stan.
Tad challenges Stan to a race were he loses hands down, but after he finds out he has to save the youth center. He races Tad again on a giant hill he wins the race because the dorky yet hot chick let out her ummmm things? So Stan wins the race and the parents buy a timeshare and everything turns out fine.moreless

plot: butters's parents take the boys and thier parents to aspen , colorado , where stan gets in a brawl with tad .

sub-plot : the condo investors prevent the parents from skiing to presents these " 30 moniute ads " .

review : two of the jokes were very kinda stupid ( which is why i rate this 8.8 ) but overall the rest was great !especially how those real estate dudes prevented the parents from skiing that kinda made laugh .moreless

  • Trivia

    ADD TRIVIA
    • In the scene where Cartman is talking about giving Butters a Hitler, pay attention to the chair that Kyle is sitting on. For a second, one of the chair's posts is replaced with a tall skinny alien (that looks like the aliens from the first episode). Specifically, this happens at 2 minutes and 40 seconds into the episode. Edit
    • When Chris says "Oh alright!" to the persistent salesmen, Trey Parker accidentally uses Mr. Garrison's voice when he says that. Edit
    • Cartman's mom isn't shown at all in the episode even though Cartman goes to Aspen. Edit
  • Notes

    ADD NOTES
    • After the second ski race a version of the Simple Minds' song "Don't You (Forget About Me)" is played. Edit
    • John Hansen, future voice of Mr. Slave, is the one who sings "Take On Me" by A-ha in the end credits. Edit
    • The song "Montage" was later reused in Trey Parker and Matt Stone's movie, "Team America: World Police." Edit

    • Kyle: Well, what do we do do now? Butters: Let's dance! (Butters starts dancing around) Cartman: Butters, I hate you with every inch of my body. Edit
    • (Ike crashes through building) Thumper: Okay you see what he did? He french fried when he should have pizza'd. You french fry when you pizza you're gonna have a bad time. Edit
    • Thumper: (to Butters) Hey little dude you got some crap right here. (points to face) Butters: That's my face, sir. Edit
  • Allusions

    ADD ALLUSIONS
    • Montages: When Stan trains for the second ski race, a movie technique called "montage" is used. Usually backed by highly energetic music, featuring little or no dialogue, a montage shows the progression of a character from novice to pro, in short sequences. This has been used in many movies and TV series, especially in the 80s. Examples that are spoofed here are Karate Kid (I and II) and the Rocky movies. Check out the lyrics to this montage's song in the "Quotes" section of this episode - it quite literally mocks the whole concept of a montage. Edit
    • For Dummies Books: When Stan is trying really hard to learn how to ski down K-13, him and the girl read a book called "Skiing for Dumba**es." That of course is a take-off of the book series called "_____ for Dummies." Edit
    • Team America: World Police: The "training montage" song was also used in the 2004 film, Team America: World Police, which was created by South Park's creators, Matt Stone and Trek Parker. Edit
