  • A hilarious way to end season 1...Cartman want to know who was his father

    10
Cartman has been absent for school for some time, and the boys go to his house to find out what's wrong. Cartman has become depressed about not having a father. Cartman confronts his Mother about it, and she says that he was conceived at the 12th Annual Drunken Barn Dance. Meanwhile, Kyle and Stan enter a videotape they made of Cartman holding a tea party with stuffed animals in the weekly contest held by America's Stupidest Home Videos. OMG, this was such a funny season 1 finale. The rest of the episodes for this season is mixed though. Anway, this episode had a bunch of funny moments, but I'm only listing a few like Cartman playing toys while he's out from school, Stan and Kyle videotaped a video of Cartman, the flashbacks, the videotape of Kenny killing, and the ending. Overall, a perfect and funny season 1 finale which turns out to be a cliffhanger. 10/10moreless

Cartman feels depressed because he does not know who his dad is, and his mom is no help either. So he goes on a quest to find out the mystery of his father. With Mephisto's help the choices are narrowed down, but right before it is announced, the episode (and the first season) end on a humorous cliffhanger. Who is Eric Cartman's Father?

Good episode. I like mystery episodes (and cliffhangers) and this was a really nice episode. Pretty funny and it had a great plot that really made you want to see what happened next. Overall my final grade for this is an A+moreless

Cartman wants to know who his father is, but his mother isn't much help as he discovers that she's had numerous relations with the men of South Park during the night of "The Drunken Barn Dance." • Fantastic episode!

    10
Cartman's Mom is a Dirty Slut is definitely the best episode of season 1. It`s a classic, no matter how many times I see it, I still love it!

Cartman wants to know who he dad is, which is interesting enough. The way it was taled is fantastic with the different versions and the list of probable father increasing at each version , it was awesome! And to end it, a cliffhanger :D I love the way how the potential fathers were all exposed in the end.

Funniest scene was in the bar where Garrison asked who never slept with Cartman`s mum and everyone remained silent, even Jesus!! LMAO!

There was no dull, not a boring moment, it`s a perfect 10!

Kenny`s death was funny as always and the whole funny vidz show stuff was funny also. Well, that`s called South Park at it`s very best.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (28)

    • The year for the Denver Broncos differs. Dr. Mephisto mentions them as the 1989 Broncos, the narrator lists them as the 1991 Denver Broncos, and the description on the back of the "South Park Volume 7" VHS box lists them as the 1979 Denver Broncos.

    • When Stan's grandfather turns the channel to The Bob Saget Show for a second, right before he hits that channel, you can hear Sally Struthers talking about starving kids in Africa. This might be a reference to earlier in the season, in the episode, "Starvin' Marvin."

    • Visitor Sighting: After Ned says "Could be", the screen VERY QUICKLY zooms over to Kyle's dad, and an alien is seen behind Chief Running Water.

    • Cartman's DNA test costs him $3,000.

    • When Kenny is dragged away by the go-kart, his body temporarily splits into three segments (Head, torso, legs). This does not happen on the video taped version, however.

    • When Mrs. Cartman answers the door, Stan asks "Is Cartman home?" in Kyle's voice.

    • The narrator says the 1991 Denver Broncos are a possible father of Cartman. This would not be possible because the episode was made in 1997 and if Cartman was conceived in 1991, then the oldest he could be is 6. He is 8, meaning he would have had to have been conceived in either 1989 or 1988.

    • Mr. Garrison calls the man with no legs "Halfy."

    • When Ms. Cartman asks Chef if he's heard of a "Manage of Three", she means "ménage a trois" (French term for a
"three-some" or multiple partners at once).

    • Cartman's address is the same as Wendy's from Tom's Rhinoplasty..."28201".

    • The same boy with the blue shirt is standing outside of Mr. Mackey's (the Guidance Counselor) office. He was also there in the Mr. Hankey episode.

    • Mr. McCormick (Kenny's dad) is at the bar next to Mr. Garrison. He is also seen earlier at the Drunken Barn Dance wearing a hat that said "Scotch" (reference back to Cartman's lines in Pink Eye).

    • In this episode we find out that Dr. Mephisto's little "monkey friend" has the name Kevin.

    • When Mr. Garrison makes the comment "Who in here HASN'T slept with Mrs. Cartman?" even Jesus and the priest don't raise their hands. Also, Principal Victoria and the Mayor are there too...even they don't raise their hands.

    • The song that plays every time Ms. Cartman falls in love with another guy at the Drunken Barn Dance is a parody of the song "My Heart Will Go On", the theme song from "Titanic."

    • Kyle says that Bob Saget is "worse than that guy on Full House." Of course, Bob Saget played the character of Danny Tanner on Full House.

    • There are three posters hanging up in Mr. Mackey's office. They read: "Dads are DANDY!", "Father & Son day is
coming!", and "If you don't have a dad, you're a BASTARD!"

    • At the Drunken Barn Dance, everyone refers to Eric's mom as "Ms. Cartman". However, now she is known as "Mrs.
Cartman". Is this right since she was never married?

    • There are two beer taps at the bar. One is labeled "Dude", the other one is labeled "Beer."

    • The name of the train that runs Kenny over is called the "American Silver Slicer."

    • When Cartman goes to the bar, Jesus is there drinking beer out of the Holy Grail.

    • When Chef is explaining to Cartman why he cannot be his father, he sits Cartman down and refers to him as "children" throughout their talk.

    • Even though Officer Barbrady is only in training at the Drunken Barn Dance, Ms. Cartman calls him "Officer".

    • When Cartman is all dressed up to approach Chef as his father, he has a big ring/brass knuckles on that says "PIE."

    • When Cartman shows up at Stan's house dressed like an Indian, Stan asks him why he is wearing a bear necklace. The necklace is actually of an eagle.

    • When it showed Stan's house, it was dark, but after Stan opens the door for Cartman, it is daytime.

    • In the flashback at the Drunken Barn Dance, Mr.Garrison
was shown with a full head of brown hair but in Weight Gain
4000 in the flashback when he was in the Talent show he had
his old current grey hair only on the back.

    • When Dr. Mephisto is reading a list of potential fathers, he mentions the 1989 Broncos. When the Narrator lists the potential fathers 1½ minutes later, he mentions the 1991 Broncos.

  • QUOTES (21)

    • Cartman: Thank you, Rumpertumskin! And what do you think about me, Clyde Frog?
Clyde Frog: I think you're a big fat piece of crap!
      Cartman: (Waiting a moment) Hey!

    • Chief Running Water: (Narrating the flashback) I knew she wanted me because she kept saying romantic things.
Young Liane: Oh, Chief. I want your hot man chowder.
      Young Chief: Whoa! Hello!

    • Cartman: And what do you think of me, Clyde Frog? (Does voice) I think you are a big fat piece of crap. (Normal Voice) Hey!

    • Mrs. Cartman: I made cookies. Would anybody like one?
Barbrady: I wouldn't mind getting a hold of your cookies, Mrs. Cartman!
Mrs. Cartman: Well, go right ahead, Officer Barbrady.
      (Barbrady eats a cookie)
Barbrady: Mmm, that's a good cookie!

    • Stan: Mr Mackey, we think there's something wrong with Cartman.
Mr Mackey: Oh well, there's a news flash!

    • Cartman: (Thinking Chief Running Water is his dad.) To think, after all this time, I'm actually a naive American.

    • Stan: Oh my god! They videotaped killing Kenny!
      Kyle: You bastards!

    • Cartman: West Si-yde.

    • Mrs. Cartman: (having an orgasm) Oh, Chef. Aw, Chef!
Chef: Damn woman, what's gotten into you?
      Mrs. Cartman: Whoopee!
(Chef pulls Mr. Garrison out of the hay)
Chef: Garrison! What the hell are you doing?!
Mr. Garrison: You're drunk, Mr. Hat!

    • Mr. Garrison: Mr. Hat, you need to admit you have a drinking problem. (to waiter) Another cosmo, please.

    • Jimbo: Don't feel too bad there, kid; I never knew who my father was, either. I mean, I did know who he was, and we had some great times together hunting and fishing... Well, hell, you know what I mean!

    • Ms. Crabtree: COME ON!!! WE'RE RUNNING LATE!!!
Stan: We're not getting on, you fat ugly bitch!
Ms. Crabtree: WHAT DID YOU SAY?!?
Stan: I said "We're not getting on, you fat ugly bitch".
Ms Crabtree: Oh. Alright then... (drives away)
      Kyle: Whoa dude.
Stan: I always wondered if that would work.

    • Cartman: (asking to borrow Stan's bike) Now look, can I borrow your bike? Or do I have to kick you in the nuts and steal it?!

    • Chef: Boy, what the fudge are you doing?
Cartman: You know just layin' down some rhymes, with the G-folk, know what I'm sayin'
      Chef: Get in here!
      Cartman: West siy-eede.

    • Stan: (about Bob Saget) This guy sucks!
Kyle: Yeah. He's almost as bad as that guy on Full House.

    • Chef: (singing) When a man loves a woman and a woman loves a man...
Well, actually, sometimes the man doesn't LOVE the woman, but he acts like he does in order to get some action, heh-heh.
The magic starts to happen and the two take off their clothes. That's right!
They caress and touch each other until the part of the man grows.
Ooh, they roll around and now things are really start to gettin' hot!
And the man says, 'I love you,' and the woman says, 'Hold on a second, I gotta go to the bathroom.'
So you wait and you wait and you wait and you wait... and you wait and you wait and you wait.
You wait and you're coolin' down and she's still goin' to the bathroom!
Finally, she comes back and she says, 'Baby, I'm gettin' hot!'
And that's when you've got to jab her foot and pump her full of--!
Cartman: What?! Who the hell did that to my mom at the drunken barn dance?!
Chef: Oh, children, that was a long time ago.

    • Narrator: Who is Eric Cartman's father? Is it Chief Running Water? Or is it Chef? Is it Mephesto? Or that little monkey guy that follows him around? Or is it Mr. Garrison?
      Jimbo: Nope. He's gay.
Mr. Garrison: You go to hell! You go to hell and you die!
      Narrator: Is it Jimbo?
      Jimbo: Daaagh!
Narrator: Or is it Officer Barbrady?
      Officer Barbrady: Huh?! Where?!
Narrator: Or could it be Ned?
      Ned: Could be.
      Narrator: Or Mr. Broflovski??
      Kyle: Dad, how could you?!
Narrator: Or is it the 1991 Denver Broncos? The answer is coming on an all-new South Park, in just four weeks.
Cartman: What?! Son of a bitch!!

    • Chief Running Water: Kid, I hate to break this to you, but your mother is what we Native Americans refer to as, 'Bear with Wiiide Canyon.'
      Cartman: What do you mean?
Chief Running Water: She is, 'Doe who cannot keep legs together.'
      Cartman: Huh??
Chief Running Water: Your mom's a slut.

    • Stan: Come on Kenny, get the go-kart going. I wanna ride it!!

    • Mrs. Cartman: Oh Chief, I want your hot man chowder!

    • Mr Garrison: Now honestly, who here has never had sex with Mrs. Cartman?
(The camera pans over everyone in the bar, including the Mayor, school principal, and even Jesus, and no one's confirming this.)
      Halfie: I haven't.
Mr Garrison: You don't count Halfie. You don't have any legs.
      Halfie: Oh, yeah.

  • NOTES (10)

    • For this first 13 episodes, Trey Parker and Matt Stone (the creators of the show) won the PGA (Producers Guild of America)'s 1998 Nova Award for "Most Promising Producer in Television".

    • Days after the episode's premiere, Bob Saget was interviewed on The Daily Show about his appearance In this episode. He said at first he felt offended when he saw his character but later on indicated that he got the joke.

    • This is the 1st episode Cartman says the F-word in the series.

    • The Boys see a Movie Trailer on TV for "Terrance & Phillip: Not Without My Anus" in this episode; which ends up being a real South Park episode in season 2.

    • This is the second time Cartman's name is mentioned in the title.

    • Ever since "Cartman's Mom is a Dirty Slut" has been coverted to the video and/or DVD, you'll notice that the creators of South Park changed the old saying from, "The answer is on all-new South Park in just 4 weeks." to, "Who is Eric Cartman's father, on the next episode of South Park."

    • When Grandpa Marsh is flipping through channels, you can hear the Sally Struthers "Save the Children" commercial in the background. This is the same commercial from "Starvin' Marvin."

    • Cartman's mom is named Liane after Trey Parker's former fiancée. He caught her with another man once, and he now names every slutty character after her.

    • www.tvguide.com lists this episodes as "Cartman's Mom....."

    • In a segment called "Great Destinations" that appeared during a spring 2002 rerun cycle of the series, Matt & Trey stood in front of a waterfall and introduced this episode (and its part 2) as being named by Comedy Central as the most "notorious" episode. Before part 2 began airing in the second half of that one hour event, they relate the story of their April Fool's joke of 1998, which didn't go over very well with the viewers, who took the need to know who Cartman's father was much too seriously.
