After 6 freaking months of waiting for a all new episode of South Park and this is what they got in this episode it's about Cartman wanting to be a freakin' NSCAR driver and he thinks that you have to be poor and Stupid to be a NSCAR driver what makes him think that and then Cartman becomes more "poor" but I love Cartman he's my favorite character but he was really stupid in this episode and Kenny has funny parts in the episode and then there is a scene where he could of die but he didn't and lasty their is 6 episodes left of the season I hope something good happensmoreless

Cartman wants to be a Nascar driver, but as everyone knows, you got to be poor and stupid. So, he hires Butters as his pit boss, gives him his money, and drinks a lot of Vagisil to be poor and stupid. He gears up for a race, will he end up winning? Is he poor and stupid enough?

Pretty good, but a lot of the jokes, especially in the last few minutes, is the same joke over and over, like Butters and/or Cartman saying something was gay or something was pissing them off. It was funny the first time but then it got annoying as it continued, or so it was like that for me. The rest was good but the final few minutes is pretty much the same joke over and over. B or so as a resultmoreless
  • Cartman dreams of joining NASCAR. This can't be good.

    9.5
What could be considered one of the funniest premieres South Park has done in awhile, "Poor and Stupid" gives Cartman's idiocy a whole new meaning, and all while insulting NASCAR and its fans. What makes it so funny, is there seems to be no limit to how far Cartman is willing to go to literally be a complete idiot, all because he thinks it will make him a better driver. Because of course to Cartman, only poor and stupid people are involved with NASCAR. Basically there’s nothing that isn’t funny in this episode. I mean everything from the jokes about Vagasil to Butters being hired as Cartman’s pit boss stand out as comedy gold. I highly recommend seeing this.moreless
  • Eric Cartman dreams of becoming a NASCAR driver, and to do this must become... poor and stupid! Not a classic, but a decent enough opener to the second half of season fourteen...moreless

Season 14 resumes with this episode, which is by no means a classic, but is a reasonable enough offering with some good moments.

Cartman has always made for good episodes, and the Cartman/Butters pairing has been used a lot in recent years, mostly with success.

Stan and Kyle only get cameos in this one, at the beginning of the story; for a (mid)season opener, I maybe would have liked to have seen a tale that featured all four boys more, as this was the main concept at the start of the series. But even so, 'Poor and Stupid' is an amusing episode that gives some good laughs. I though that the "dey dook our jooobs" rednecks would have been a fun cameo though, and was a little surprised they didn't appear in a story such as this.

For all that I've said that this is a decent episode, at the end of the day it is a rather 'one joke' outing (Cartman doing everything he can to become poor and stupid). It's well put together, but maybe doesn't have the re-watchability of some of the other Cartman classics; once you've seen this one and 'got' the joke, that's kinda it. Even so, it is amusing enough for me to give it a decent 9/10.moreless

  • TRIVIA (3)

    • This episode has the most uses of the F-word in any episode so far with a total of 26.

    • While Cartman and Butters were in the pharmacy, the advertisement posted in the background has a spelling error, which reads "When Yo Buy Two".

    • Closely observe the 3 miscellaneous characters in the closeup of the speedway grandstand, just before the race begins: A red-shirt woman with sunglasses, 2 men, one wearing a 'PTS' cap and another with a black V-neck.

They will reappear in the garage area (located at the centre of the speedway), where Cartman's car will run over them. All 3 of them would be seen again back at the grandstand when the chequered flag is raised, suggesting they have survived the accident.

    • Butters: Hello, excuse me! I know that you NASCAR people don't have very much. So I went out and bought you all $58 worth of canned food and blankets! You're welcome! (runs off) I helped the needy!
