This episode is all based around the usual plot of Civil War and it really can be silly. This section of Season Three is supposed to be an excellent section but I think it is like biting into a reezing cold ice cream on a winter morning.
Though the laughs are sometimes OTT on South Park, this episode just contains so bloody stupid parts and I really think that is is another one of the season fillers until they think of something better, like - Mr. Hankey's Christmas Classics for example.
:( Why would you ruin Season 3 with this bull crap?

This is exactly why I watch South Park, boys being boys until the situation gets totally out of hand. This is the best episode of the first 3 seasons if not the whole series. Cartman leading the confederate re-enacters would were blitzed on s'more schnappz was hilarious and well, just every single aspect of this episode screamed hilarity. Kenny's death wasn't so great, but the letter home was very funny. Cartman bribing the president by mentioning a video of Marissa Tomei was funny, not to mention lucky. If all the episodes in this series were like this, this would be the greatest show of all time.
  • The men in SP go nuts with gtheir bellies full of smore schnapps, a new smore flavored liquor!

An unforgettable episode in which very good writing is combined with better animation and perfect timing. The men in South Park get extremely drunk after drinking smore schnapps and they take the Civil War Reenactment seriously. They all begin fighting for the Confederacy! They begin seizing random cities across the the South and eventually try to take Fort Sumpter. They do not succeed, because they thwarted by Stan and Kyle who play into the reenactment by signing a treaty ending the war in favor of the North. Cartman's pist, the men sober up, and everything goes back to normal in South Park.
  • This episode is important in character development because it shows just how far Cartman is willing to go.

This episode is important in character development because it shows just how far Cartman is willing to go. This episode is an early version of Scott Tenorman Must Die. In that, he will go as far as it takes. This trait is one of Cartman's most important, and Trey and Matt have used it again and again, to VERY impressive effect; most recently in the "Go God Go" run.

Cartman is able to carry an episode by himself due to the way the creators have developed him over the years. This is why Cartman is the BEST character on television.
  • South Park stages a re-enactment of the end of the Civil War, and Cartman joins with the Confederate side and bets with Stan and Kyle who are on the North side that the South will win. The forfeit for the losers is a week of slavery!!!

Probably my favourite South Park episode!! I think mostly because it doesn't let up, slow down for characterisation or dramatic pause like a fair amount of them do. Just a solid 20 minutes of light-hearted entertainment. Especially if you like the episodes where Cartman expresses his hatred for Stan and Kyle. The premise for the ep is a good one, and it's tackled in a silly manner as usual. The annual South Park reenactment of the Civil War takes place, and the boys make a deal that the losing boys of the war have to be slaves for the winner. (Cartman for Stan and Kyle and vice versa).

Well, as usual, Cartman takes things a bit too far, and the reenactment makes its way across the United States, looting and plundering in a drunken manner, before long ending up at the White House for the show finalé. The detail in the episode is great; I particularly like the way they did the letters from Cartman from the field. All done in sepia colour tones, complete with the pipe and drum music. It's these little touches that make South Park so special. I still found enjoyment in this episode despite living in England and not knowing a great deal about the American Civil War. So don't feel like you need to know a little about the content to enjoy the episode!

    10/10 anyday. Thumbs waay up.
  • The men of southpark is preparing for the yearly reinactment of a battle which took place in the American civil war. Cartman is on the confederacy's side and bets Stan & Kyle that their side is going to win this year. Stan & Kyle accepts.

This episode is one of my absolute South Park episodes. As a fan of Cartman, you\'ll get all the cartman you\'ll need for a few hours ;)

He\'s General Lee impression is just hilarious, the tone of his voice, what he\'s saying, -excellent!

The main story is just so plain and wonderfully silly in a true Southpark spirit.

The letters Cartman writes different characters, among Kennys mother is just unbeatable, i choked myself in laughter while watching this one, hehe.

Im not great with words, but in my mind this is a absolute Southpark classic which must be viewed by everyone!

    Ie. _Don't_ miss this episode!
