Jimbo and Ned take Stan and friends up to the mountains. Randy, Stan's Dad, discovers that a volcano up there is going to erupt, and so the mayor tries to save not only Jimbo, Ned, and the boys, but the entire town of South Park as well. Will all of South Park be saved from the volcano, or is this the end?

Decent episode. Not the best from season one, but it was once again an enjoyable way to spend 22 minutes. Cartman was pretty funny in this one. Overall my final grade for this is a B. Pretty greatmoreless

  • This episode is actually better than the the first one in my opinion

This episode improves on the first episode a lot! Jimbo[Stan's uncle] and Ned, Take Kyle, Stan, Kenny and cartman on a fishing/camping trip, but Stan feels rejected because his uncle is spending more time with Kenny than him. Then, even worse they found out a volcano is about to erupt and bury everyone in south park under hot molten lava. So, they must come up with a plan to stop the volcano from getting to south park. This episode is much funnier than the previous episode. The highlight of this episode has to be when the citizens of south park watch a video to prevent themselves from being killed by the volcano. The basic moral of the video is: 'stop, drop and cover'. But when the volcano actually erupts some people stop, drop, and cover, but get killed. Very, funny indeed.moreless

  • This is a good episode, especially the part where Stan kills the monster and the part where Jimbo yells, "ITS COMING RIGHT FOR US!" and blasts the bunny rabbit.

This is a good episode, especially the part where Stan kills the monster and the part where Jimbo yells, "It's coming right for us!" and blasts the bunny rabbit. The "duck and cover" video was pretty great too, to be honest. Like those lame '50s videos to live through a nuclear holocaust. Chef: ...that is the most whack thing I have ever seen in my life!

This was a great episode, not as good as some of the later ones, though. But still, a good one. Now, to outlast the 100 word minimum, I will type in this sentance. Ah, there we go.

So, to repeat, a good episode.moreless

Mayhem comes to South Park when the local volcano begins to erupt while the boys are on a hunting trip with Stan's Uncle Jimbo and his war buddy Ned. Cartman tells everyone the legend of Scuzzlebutt, the fearsome creature with a celery arm and Patrick Duffy leg that lives in the mountains and weaves wicker baskets and loves the taste of blood. Failing to impress the boys, Cartman dresses up as Scuzzlebutt to try and give them a scare, but things go awry as usual. While it is one of the more offbeat South Park storylines, it has its spectacular moments, such as the volcano safety video, Lava and You.moreless

The boys go on a camping trip with Stan's Uncle Jimbo and his buddy Ned. However the mountain they are camping on turns out to be a volcano about to errupt.

Decent episode with some very funny scenes.

We are introduced to Jimbo and Ned a couple of rednecks with a passion for Hunting. Jimbo isn't that interesting but Ned is very funny with his speaking aid. The bit where he catches fire was very funny but the fishing scene was the best part of the episode.

Cartman has some great scenes again with his rather random Skuzzlebutt story actually becoming true. And he almost gets himself shot when he pretends to be Skuzzlebutt.

Kenny was more active this time. It seems he's does some pretty messed up stuff such as drink a can of gasoline.

Stan just couldn't shoot anything that was ment to be shot but went it came to Skuzzlebutt right after he saved them and everyone was loving him he shoots it in the head right on live TV. LOL

Funny episode but the humour was a bit obvious at times 7/10

Plot was rather unoriganal again but the humour makes up for it. 5/10

    Characters introduced:
    Jimbo
    Ned
Randy Marsh (Although not revealed as Stan's Dad yet)
    Mayor McDaniels

Celebrities: um Patrick Duffy as one of Skuzzlebutt's legs.

What was made fun of: Nothing really again.moreless

    • In the Spanish language dub, Scuzzlebutt's leg is replaced with Ricky Martín instead of Patrick Duffy; in the Hungarian language dub, it is replaced with Tom Cruise, in the Italian one with "Ridge from Beautiful." Edit
    • In Cartman's tale Scuzzlebutt's left hand was a stalk of celery, but when he goes to personify Scuzzlebutt he holds the celery in his right hand. When Scuzzlebutt showed up to rescue the camping party his right hand was a stalk of celery. Edit
    • At the end, Ned can't shoot Scuzzlebutt because he is out of ammo, but later, he drops his gun and it shoots Kenny! Edit

    ADD NOTES
    • The second episode uses animation to give it the appearance of cardboard but is actually computer animated. Edit
    • This is the first appearance of Stan's uncle Jimbo and his hunting buddy Ned. Edit
    • The geologist (whom we now know as Randy Marsh) is based on Trey Parker's father, Randy, who is also a geologist. Obviously at this point we don't know that he is Stan's father, we only find that out later in the episode 'An Elephant Makes Love to a Pig'. Edit

    • Jimbo: (Offers the kids some gin) You boys wanna top one off? Kyle: No thanks, that stuff tastes like pee. Stan: Yeah, Cartman's pee. Cartman: Hey, you would taste my pee. Edit
    • Cartman: Hey, you guys. I know a scary story. Kyle: Shut up, Cartman. You can't scare anybody. Cartman: Oh, yeah? Have you guys ever heard of (slyly) Scuzzlebutt? Stan: What-butt? Cartman: Scuzzlebutt is a creature that lives up this very mountain and kills anybody who dares climb at the top. Stan: Why? Cartman: Because it loves the taste of blood and likes to add pieces to its deformed body. Kyle: Deformed like how? Cartman: Well... On his left arm, instead of a hand, he has... Stan: A hook? Kyle: A knife! Cartman: No. A piece of celery... Stan: Celery?? Cartman: Yes. And he walks with a limp, because one of his legs is missing. And where his leg should be, there's nothing but...Patrick Duffy. Kyle: Patrick Duffy?! Damn it, Cartman! That's not scary! Cartman: What do you mean? Haven't you ever seen "Step by Step"?? (continues) Anyway, he lives alone on his mountain and weaves baskets and other assorted crafts. They say that on quiet nights, you can hear him weaving his baskets... (imitates weaving sounds) Stan: Cartman, you suck at telling scary stories! Kyle: Yeah! Give me that flashlight! Edit
    • Cartman: (in his Scuzzlebutt costume) I am Scuzzlebutt! Lord of the Mountains! Behold my Patrick Duffy leg! Ned: What is it? Kyle: Dude, it's Scuzzlebutt! Cartman WASN'T lying! Jimbo: Holy smoke! We can make a mint killing this thing! Ned: We'll be on the cover of "Guns and Ammo". Jimbo: This calls for some HJ-14... Cartman: (chuckles) Those guys are totally scared... Jimbo: Fire in the hole! (fires two missiles) Cartman: Holy crap! (dodges the two missiles) Jimbo: Damn it! I think I missed! Cartman: What the hell is wrong with you people?! (runs away) Jimbo: Come on, let's move! Move! Edit
