Wow, what a terrible episode, hope this is not a bad portent for the rest of the season! Thought the episode was pretty lame, the guys become talent agents and take a chinese singer to Los Angeles. Thought this was pretty much a one joke episode, 'No not my Chitty Chicken! ... Not the Chitty shrimp!' It was interesting to hear the ABBA songs, didn't know they were popular in the States. Also interesting that the web site refered to in the episode in in New Zealand (probably as the name was not available anywhere else). Hop ehte rest of the season gets better, this episode was a real let down!moreless

  • Really boring.

I don't even know. This episode just didn't stay in my memory. It was boring and the characters didn't really show parts of themselves that I liked and that I usually watch the episodes for. Wing was a random character in this episode that I didn't like. And I wouldn't watch this episode again.

After an announcement by Mr. Garrison, Token becomes famous among the class. He is set to sing at the Miss Colorado pageant and earn, what seems to him and the kids, a lot of money. So, Cartman tells the guys they could be Token's agents and earn some of his money. After the performance, Token is suggested to join CAA and leaves the boys' agency. After being depressed, the City Wok guy asks if his wife could be represented. His wife, Wing, is an incredible singer and the boys sign her to the agency. She auditions for American Idol but has to wait in lines. Meanwhile, the Chinese Mafia is seeking payment for immigrating the City Wok guy's wife to America. They track Wing down and capture her but the boys will not lose a client. They go to great lengths to save her. In the end, the boys learn they should not treat Wing and others like they own her. They realize she's a human and not some object. They enjoy her singing at Sylvester Stallone's daughter's wedding where Token is waitering.moreless

  • This ok episode satirises the materialistic world of show business. It does not have many flaws as such, but is somewhat lacking in real high notes as well. A very average South Park episode (but hey, they CAN'T all be the best episode ever, that would bemoreless

Good things about this episode: The materialistic world of show biz is satirised in a fun way. It is also nice to see Stan and Kyle give in to their selfish impulses for a change - being flawed makes them more three-dimensional as characters.

The bad: The episode as a whole isn't all that gripping, and there aren't many laugh-out-loud moments or great displays of Parker and Stone's razor sharp wit. Not a bad episode, just a bit...flat.moreless

  • Wing! unbelievable.

    7.8
    "Good"
This was a relatively average south park episode. No ground breaking stuff here. Another Cartman get-rich-quick scheme with a pseudo-morality theme at the end.

Turns out that Token has a pretty good voice. I didn't realize this, since we've only seen him sing poorly in "Here comes the neighborhood" and play bass in "Christian Rock Hard."

But of course he can sing, he's Black.

My biggest laugh though, wasn't the episode itself, but that Wing is a real person, who makes music that people actually listen to, buy, and *enjoy*. She has her own website, and sings at rest homes and hospitals. NO, it's not fake. She's still making new albums and performing gigs.

    Life just isn't fair.moreless

    • The contract Token signs reads as follows: "I will give 10% of my money to Stan, Kyle, Kenny and Cartman because they are awesome and can find me lots of work as an artist." Edit
    • Token has a great singing voice in this episode, but in "Here Comes the Neighborhood" he can barely stay on key. Edit
    • On one of the commercials for this episode, Cartman, when talking to Token on the street, calls him Butters. ("Butters, my man! What is up?!") Edit
  • Notes

    ADD NOTES
    • A deleted scene shown on the South Park Studios website (put online a couple days before air) details an alternate scene for after the boys lose Token to the CAA and are lying around contemplating their loss, but this time Cartman mentions "Kenny's parents are gonna be so mad at him when they find out we lost all their money to make up the talent agency! Umm...Kenny?" This is why Kenny is laying motionless on the couch during the scene. Edit
    • The ad at the end for Wing and her music is a real website! It's http://www.wingmusic.co.nz/. Apparently, no editing was done to the sound of Wing or her songs, they really are that great! Edit

    • Reality Shows: Wing was going to participate in American Idol, but she couldn't join because there were too many contestants, so she joined The Contender instead. These are two popular reality shows. American Idol airs various nights on Fox at 8:00 PM and it's a reality show about looking for the next "pop idol," whereas The Contender, which airs Sundays on ESPN at 8:00 PM is looking for the next boxing champion. Edit
    • Token and Wing's Songs: During the talent show, Token sings, "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine" by Lou Rawls. The song Wing was singing to the boys the first time they met her was "Dancing Queen" by ABBA. Then during The Contender's boxing match, Wing sings "Fernando" by ABBA, and later at the wedding, she sings "Sing" by The Carpenters. Edit
