I hope that SOUTHLAND gets a new home on CBS like MEDIUM.

I know CBS like the back of my hand, and Southland isn't a CBS show. Latest news is TNT might be Southland's new home.

^^^ this is great news!!!! Hopefully if they start on Monday, they can fire off some episodes in December? Maybe even mid-november, since by the time they finish airing the 6 pre-made episodes, they will have already made 4-5 new episodes.

Why wait til January? Air them now!

Air them now where? It's an availability issue. The Tuesday night timeslot is currently being occupied by the Bones syndication package and the networks are still airing new episodes. Once the Bones run is finished and the repeats begin, then Southland can begin unfettered by competition from the major networks.

TNT will air season 2 on March 2nd, 2010, after they have aired the 7 episodes from season 1. They will begin airing the season 1 episodes on January 12th, 2010 at 10pm. On a side note, I wrote to TV.com about this update, and they told me that my update would not be excepted. Though it clearly has been because after i notified them, they changed the air date for the second season from January 12th, 2010 to March 2nd, 2010.

The first seven episodes will have new footage, so it will be fun rewatching and trying to find the new scenes

I read somewhere that Tom Everett Scott's character loses his main cast member status in the 6 "new" episodes...so does this mean he retires or is severly wounded due to getting shot at the end of season 1?

I think we'll have to wait and see what happens with Tom's character. At least we know the results from the cliffhanger on Derailed --
    ***SPOILER***
    .

The first seven episodes will be available on DVD in January 2010 without the bleeps, but no new footage. There's also a featurette. More info HERE.

The first season, which aired on NBC, began on January 12. The show is new to TNT, so it's being promoted as a new series for the network. The second season, which never aired on NBC, will begin on March 2, 2010.

Man no bleeps on the DVD? I for one like how they used the bleeps but man that's gonna be crazy to listen to and watch.

The bleeps remind me of when the show Third Watch would do that type of thing but with sirens and stuff instead of actual bleeps. One episode in particular is episode 14 in season 5 in the opening sequence before the opening credits

On a related note, does anyone wonder if they had written dialogue that would have to be bleeped on ahead of time and on purpose so that they could have that as a selling point for the season on DVD as it seems to be?
