Given that I am posting months later Davies I am assuming you found it. I found it in filesharing (Bitcomment software - Torrentspy site) with healthy threads still out there at this date of writing. Better, by the DVD, that way its legal, and it is found on Amazon.com plus I am assuming other places, and on sale.

The DVD set apparently has no extras, but Fox always abused this series, and I see even in the DVD release nothing changes. I bet they dvd only because they knew some BSG fans would pick up on the release and buy it.

If you still want to know about the final episode, post here and I am certain you will get some replys. I will check back occassionally.

8 months late... Basically almost everyone dies except for 2 guys. It was total carnage! Thats about all I remember about it other than the alien that one of the Marines (forget his name) found that turned out to be the evil Chig alien leader which led to the deaths of nearly all of his friends and a big defeat for Earth. Only he survived along with the guy who was born in a tank (grown like crop). It was one heck of a way to kill off a show! They usually dont wipe out the cast! Reminded me of the way everyone died at the end of Blakes 7. I think the movie Starship Troopers ripped off this series. Ok, it was based on a book but so much of the look and feel of the show somehow ended up in Starship Troopers.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, I saw a couple of episodes of this a few years ago & really liked the storyline - I never thought I'd get hold of a copy, as it only ran for 1 season (especially as I've waited 14 years for the 2nd Series of Twin Peaks to be put onto DVD!!!! - thanks to Amazon I now know that this is available soon too - even if I do have to buy it from US and get it shipped to UK!). Your info. was very useful.

This is even later but I just watched the final episode. Here's what happened.

The Chig leader was in fact the same one the 58th warned about the impending attack in "And If They Lay Us Down to Rest...". They tried to save his life thinking that he might be the last of his species, not knowing that they were informing the enemy of their entire attack plan.

When the Chig leader turns up, offering to discuss peace, he agrees to all terms and conditions and even releases the prisoners that were captured at Tellus and the other colony that the Chigs attacked at the beginning of the war. He only asks to meet the head of Aerotech. They agree and send for him.

The commodore has a bad cold and since they have to create an atmosphere in which the Chig can comfortably be in for the peace talks, he asks McQueen to take his place, representing the Saratoga.

When the Chig leader meets the Aerotech guy, things go bad. He accuses Aerotech of knowing about the Chig presence on Tellus and the other planet. He accuses them of knowing that those were Chig homeworlds. He said that they were not the original Chig homeworlds. They originally came from Earth. They left billions of years ago and settled elsewhere, developing differently from humans but they share a common ancestry. He accused Aerotech of knowing all this and of plotting to destroy them, hence the attack on the colonies. Then the two of them fought it out before the Chig blew himself up killing nearly everyone in the room except for McQueen who was badly hurt.

Chig fighters then began attacking a transport ship that was bringing the former captive colonists back to the Saratoga. A couple of squads were sent out to help protect them and escort them back. The 58th wasn't allowed to because they were in deep trouble for letting the enemy know the attack plan. But when the other squads were destroyed and the transport was in danger of the same, the 58th was sent out to do the job. On the list of captives was Kylen, Nathan West's girlfriend.

They got out there and fought hard. The original transport was disabled so the 58th docked with it and moved the colonists to their ship. Wang fixed the transport during the transfer and told West that they could fly it back to the Saratoga.

More Chig fighters engage the transport ships. The one with the colonists is being flown by Vansen and Damphouse. Hawkes is with the colonists in the cargo container. In the old transport ship, Wang and West try to fight off the Chigs but there are too many of them. Vansen is forced to join in on the fight. Her ship gets badly damaged. The cockpit is blasted from the remainder of the ship and they float down towards the planet surface. Damphouse is unconscious. The ship gets pulled into the planet's gravity. West wants to try and rescue them but she tells him to go after the cargo container instead. She tells him to save Kylen and take her home.

West's ship is still intact. Wang goes into the cargo container to try and detach it so that they can pick up the other container from Vansen's ship. The Chigs attack again. West's cargo container becomes damaged and Wang cannot get out. He detaches it from West's ship and begins fighting the Chigs as best he can. There's nothing West can do but go after the cargo container with the colonists. He grabs it as Wang fights off the last of the Chigs when slams into his cargo container, completely destroying it.

West returns with the colonists. The sole confirmed survivors are West and Hawkes. Wang is dead. Vansen and Damphouse are presumed dead. It was unlikely that they could have survived entry into the planet atmosphere or the crash on its surface.

What really irks me is that we'll probably never find out if Vansen and Damphouse actually survived, in my opinion it's very possible they can be.

I think it's obvious that Vansen and Damphousse are alive. Its a big enough deal to kill off a main character, who would kill off three in one episode? If the show had continued I'm pretty positive West and Hawkes would have rescued Vansen and Damphousse.

I'd have to agree there, but since they didn't plan to continue, it's just as likely that Shane and Phousse were killed in action. Hate it, but that's war for you. The heroes and good guys die just as often as the rest of those fighting. I still hold out hope for Shane, though, if only because she was my favorite character.

I heard that Morgan and Wong were so p*ssed off that the show was cancelled that they decided to go down with guns a blazing. Basically, scr*w u, Fox, you don't want us, so we're going out in a blaze of glory.
