The episode started great with the 58th in battle in their Hammerheads, though they were in more danger from their own fatigue than the Chigs. The dangers of wounded soldiers becoming addicted to their medication was highlighted by Hawk's rapidly deteriorating judgement and self control, and the gang's fun while on R&R gave us plenty to think about. What kept this episode from being a classic was the ridiculous love scene in the middle of an assault between Damphousse and Wang. It stretched credulity beyond the breaking point to see them grappling as bullets flew by. Fortunately a touching ending with everybody visiting Coop in rehab saved the episode.moreless
  • One of the more interesting episodes. Include a good guest star.

I think the writers and producers tried to imitate a Star Trek Next Generation Episode where the Enterprise go to a pleasure planet for R&R. They write in a space faring travel vessel that has similar amenities. Now the illogical thing that I find is that they pass this vessel on patrol and they run into enemy space craft. Now if they had to patrol this area then the pleasure craft shouldn’t be near the frontline. Another part is they put the 58th on leave but more than 6 of them go on leave when they arrive at the craft but back to 6 on the planet where they are fighting. The Cooper sex talk was kind of interesting. The topic of drugs in the military was nice addresses in terms of addiction and help. I like how they introduced David Duchovny as a guest star.moreless

    • Vansen: (at the pool hall) Looking for action. I'm a dead-stroke player going strong for the cheese. Won't fade with the nits or the sharks. Got no time for hustles, lemonading or stalling. Now, who in this room has the... heart to show me their speed?
Handsome Alvin: (when no one else comes forward) They call me Handsome Alvin. This is my house, and in my house attitudes like yours... get spanked.
Vansen: Sounds like you got the plums, Alvin. Rack 'em.

    • West: (guilty about Hawkes' injury) I'm a hot pilot. Best on this ship after...
      Vansen: (interrupting) Me.
West: McQueen! And if I'm making mistakes... On a mission, I can only react at half speed. My situational awareness is zero. Lately in a given situation I'm choosing whatever routes can get me back in bed the quickest. I'm not myself. I've lost control. Hawkes could be dead tonight, 'cause of me.

    • Wang: (referring to the Aero-Tech recreational vessel) Bacchus, it's like Vegas, New York, and Oz, all rolled into one.
Damphousse: Right now, I'd settle for a night in Buffalo.

    • Hawkes: Man, it's getting weird. I'm seeing rabbits and squirrels and stuff hopping around my wings.

    • Col McQueen: Sir, you know how long and hard those kids will fight. But Roundhammer could go on for months. They'll just drop. We will have killed them, not the enemy!
Ross: How about you, Ty? How are you feeling?
Col McQueen: Me? There will be plenty of time to rest when I'm dead.

    • Suzy: You know one thing, lieutenant? Every girl's weak spot is the back of her neck.
Hawkes: (seeing the navel on her neck) You- you're- you're an InVitro!
Suzy: Believe me, lieutenant, an InVitro's first time should be with one of his own.

    • Hawkes: (hitting on some girls) Hey, didn't we used to go to the same school, only at different times? (the girls laugh and leave) Is that like where they're girls but they don't like men or something? I mean, I'm better looking than Wang, don't you think?
West: I'll only answer that after a few beers.
