  • Very enjoyable opening episode

I loved this episode. It had a lot of memorable moments, with the show even parodying Beavis and Butthead, MST3K and CD commercials in the one show. The guests were good: well barring the Bee Gees who were only there to get blasted by Space Ghost for laughing at him. Kevin was constantly asking "What's wrong with you?" at both Zorack's overuse of music and Space Ghost blasting him for no apparent reason. I kind of agree with him. Overall a lot of fun and it only got better from here. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the episodes in this DVD set.moreless
  • The beginning. Of the beginning.

The new setting of the Space Ghost epic kicks off with this, the debut of his talk show, where his co-hosts are his imprisoned enemies and his guests are often in danger of running out of oxygen.

Space Ghost struggles to get everything running on time and smoothly, while his music director, keyboardist and giant evil mantis Zorak, constantly plots to kill him, and producer Moltar is a gravel-voiced, husky robotic type who can never remember which lever does what.

The guests on this barrage of craziness include the Bee Gees-- yes, those-- comedian and actor Kevin Meaney, and exercise guru Susan Powter, among others.

Ends with the near-destruction of the set, and Space Ghost somehow running around in a banana suit.

    ...Don't ask me. I don't know either.

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • One of the songs on Zorak and Moltar's CD is titled "If You See Kay Tell Her I Called." The first four words in this title spell out the f-word.

  • QUOTES (1)

    • Space Ghost: (to Susan Powter) Susan, You were born in Australia. Have You ever been snatched away by a pack of wild dingoes?
Susan: No, I, I, I escaped the bush narrowly. Narrowly escaped the bush.
Space Ghost: I Think we have some footage of you escaping the bush. Roll that clip, Moltar! (Moltar rolls "Ultra 7" movie clip. SG, Moltar, and Zorak are in a silhouetted theater a la MST3K)
Announcer: People are afraid to leave their homes. They cringe behind locked doors, trembling with fear! (screen shows walking plant) Wondering who the deadly 'bush' will strike next! (the "bush" scares a woman) Meantime, the hideous creatures are multiplying fast!
Zorak: This actually isn't too bad.
Space Ghost: (back on set) My, that's frightening.
