It sure will be strange to have a new guy as Spartacus and he won't be exactly like Andy. The whole facial expressions will be different.

I just can't believe they did not cancel the show.(after Andy got to quit after the whole cancer thing showed it's ugly head).

It just proves how good it really is I guess.

But if I know anything so far about starz is that those guys can really deliver some really high quality stuff.

Not to mention for the first time I think John Hannah is inside a character that he has truly mastered. Because up until Spartacus series I never thought of him as that good of an actor.

In Mummy movies he really bored me. But now...

And it was about time Lucy Lawless crawled out from Xena persona.

But I never thought in my life she would do something as hardcore as Spartacus series to be honest. I guess she felt that she could do a good job and not be ashamed for it.

Good for you Xe.. I mean Lawless .

agreed on both counts...John Hannah was not even funny in Mummy; but, his portrayal of batiatus is a complete 180. Amazing.

As for Lucy Lawless the name Xena really stuck in my head didn't even recognize her in Battlestar Galactica; but after this she is memorable performance.

To be honest I think his natural talent should be portraying bad guys and not good guys.

It seemed to me like it was a total pain in the ass for him to play a good guy and it totally did not suit him.

He was never even once funny and at times he looked to pissed of to be a clean good guy...in my opinion.

Well I do believe she is best known for her Xena performance long time ago. That series still airs from time to time on different channels worldwide.

I for longest only could only associate her with Xena character because mainly I have not seen Battlestar Galactica (not a huge sci-fi fan) or any of her other work. I dunno if any of her work where as successful as Xena so that might explain it. I dunno if anytime soon she will be recognized for more than her Xena character but sure as heck anyone who has seen Spartacus knows (like you say) that, that is a memorable performance no doubt.

Now I see her as Xena and Lucretia. Good stuff.

I'm glad that the show hasn't been cancelled, it's not gonna be easy putting Spartacus a different face and voice but Starz deliver quality indeed and I, for one, am willing to carry on watching.

I agree with you guys, both John Hannah and Lucy Lawless are flawless indeed, kudos to both!

Yes indeed they do. There is one thing GOTA has proved to us. Is that even without Andy this show did as much of a good job as with him (if not better).

Now most responsibility for continued success of this series lies on Liam our new lead actor. And for him to deliver a top notch performance. Can't wait to find out how it turns out. So what exact date is season 2 gonna be put on air? Anyone knows?

P.S Now that I think about it there is something I been wondering for a very long time. I remember watching ROME(2 season series) and I think after sometime Augustus (one of the main characters) got his actor replaced. I never figured out why. Does anyone have an explanation for it?

Hmm I can understand you but I still disagree. For instance in my mind just because the show has less episodes it does not make it a worse show. The matter of fact I think the less the episodes the better show is since there usually is no time for filler episodes and you get really nice and nifty action and drama packed episodes with really great pacing. Andy was cool but I think the show can survive without him. But I can understand why you missed Andy. Unfortunately you will be missing him for the rest of the show since he has been replaced with Liam. Don't worry.

no no dont chill out xD.< this is kinda funny.< and i guess your english than.< i like english people mostly because of james bond.< xD but first blood and sand was really spartacus you know.< but there where some minor mis understandings. like quintus the real batatius was named gnaeus.< and they didnt fight with swords when they killed them all.< they did it with kitchen knifes. yeah yeah i,m a history freak who cares,< i just thought blood and sand had a more intresting story line.< mostly because its losely based on true events. and (GotA)well thats was mostly fictie if not all.

Hahah yeah man Gladiator Battle Royal was very unexpected and cool thing to do. It was really well done by starz. Very cool end for a final episode. Yep that was like most unexpected thing. Absolutely no one saw Gannicus surviving this episode and let alone getting FREEDOM!!. That was sucha nice plot twist. Yeah I was thinking like no way Batiatus gonna let the man walk just like that (remembering Barka). But I guess in this stage of his life he was not as totally corrupt as we see him in BAS. There was still some honor in him left (even though if it was some really small shreds). And yes Gannicus for season 2 no doubt. Bring him back. He still has some unfinished business with Doctore. Can't wait for Doctore to find out. Talking about Gannicus. That last fatality to that huge Gladiator was damn sickening gross. Yeah it was not Crixus time yet. But in time he would become champion of Capua. I doubt it was long from the moment Gannicus left. To be honest I was very surprised that Vitius survived. I wonder what happened to him afterwards. Well this ends gladiator stage to be honest. For the most part at least. Next Spartacus main theme will be defying an Empire. And Legatus of course. Man can't wait for our Legatus to find out what happened. Season 2 don't let us waiting for to long.

Legatus Glabber will laugh and know throw a feast in his wife's honor. Batiatus had him by the balls because that incident with Illythia. Now all who know of his wife's involvement is dead. Now he can put Spartacus and his rabble down. Gaining him favor as the savior of Rome.

Oenamaius, Crixus Spartacus are real people at least according to wikipedia and they all get put down in the end. Though the way the writers have done so far keeps me on my toes I'm sure they will surprise us with twists unlike no other.

    Speculations

    1. Has anyone stated that Lucretia survived? Cause she was still moving at the end of the episode. It will probably be the middle of season 2 before we really find out.

    2. Why do I get the Glabber's wife is carrying the child of Spartacus

    3. I think Spartacus will survive the end of the rebellion contrary to history living with his woman under his real name.

That celebration will be short lived since Spartacus is going to be in a bad mood. This is going to be blood for blood by the gallons. As far as him and Glabber goes it's personal and I think Spartacus has a personal grudge against this guy. But so far Glabber will think he has upper hand while in reality he will lose that pretty soon. Spartacus is indeed taking a form of slave rebellion leader. This does not look good for Rome at the moment. Not just Wikipedia but other sources as well. They are historical characters indeed. Yep we all know how this will end but still it's gonna be interesting how they will make it all look. Sure there will be twists and that's a good thing as long as you don't take it to far. 1. She did not survive. LoL it would make no sense whatsoever if she would survive now would it? 2. Doubtfully anyone would figure that out even if he was. Well unless Spartacus told him somehow. But I doubt he would care enough. 3. First of like Boom says: "Which woman?". Second LoL in what kinda of way would that even make sense? Besides I don't think starz want to piss of a lot of people. I doubt they are going after "altering history" angle here. If they would they would probably announced that from the get go so historians would announce their dissatisfaction from the start.

I,m with edge on this one.Untill now they managed to do a pretty good job following history. But everybody nows this isnt gonna end with a happy end.I think around season3 or 4 spartacus will just hang on a cross or die in a battle.I dont know wich story starz is gonna follow. But i certainly dont hope the happy ending one.
