Speed Buggy

Show Summary

In the early 1970's Hanna-Barbera created this classic series starring a special car named Speed Buggy, created by his mechanic and best friend Tinker. Despite his small size, he can be a race car and can be utilized for various uses like flying, digging, and even floating on water as a boat. He's also very acrobatic. When Speed Buggy isn't racing, he's out thrwarting the diabolical plots of various megalomaniacs looking to rule the world with various insane plans. Along with Tinker, Speedy is helped by their friends Mark and Debbie, the latter usually having to use her charm to sweet talk the guys into getting into action to stop the bad guys. This series has some similarities to Josie and the P u s s y cats, which also had its gang stopping megalomaniacs of their own. In fact, a few episodes of both series are carbon copies of each other. Regardless, Speed Buggy does work out on its own, even though it only lasted one season (1973-74). The show originally aired Saturday mornings on CBS, and was rerun on NBC, ABC, and syndication before it was picked up on Cartoon Network, and eventually Boomerang, which is the home of many Hanna-Barbera classic shows, including Scooby's All-Star Laff-A-Lympics, in which Speed Buggy and Tinker returned as part of the Scooby Doobies team. Other than this Speed Buggy is sporatically referenced on various Cartoon Network series including The Powerpuff Girls, and even made a cameo appearance on Johnny Bravo, which proves that the little spunky car may have been gone a long time, but not forgotten as he has a special place in the hearts of fans and other cartoon viewers alike.moreless

This show makes my day at 3:00 ET zone. When there's 1 and I want to see I see. Excellent Show 10 ot of 10. One of my favorite Hanna Babbarea cartoons. Tinker rces so lovely with him as the driver! They're always into crime.

Even if the catch them red handed it's always a speedy aventure. My favorite episode would probably the one where those two "Wanted" man put that box in the trunk and try to get back by making speedy fall in "LOVE" that was a wonderful episode. I also like "ALL OF THEM" superb show! I wish it was a boomerroyalty. I wnat it to be January '08's boomerroyalty. I wish for it! I want to have a DVD collection. I wish! • A guilty pleasure from my childhood. I was nine yrs. old when this show debut. This was a different buddy buddy show.

When I was a boy I waited for my weekend time with Speed Buggy and his friends. I enjoyed the racing; and the different adventures they did. I was upset when they took the show off the air. I was glad to see Tink and Speed Buggy in the Laff-A-Lymoplis. I.m waiting for the season to be on DVD.
