  • With the building collapsing around them, Saiga and Suitengu battle each other. Can Saiga prevent Suitengu's plan coming to fruition?

Plenty of action and excitement in the finale, with a few surprises thrown in.

I'm continually surprised at how the writers have made Suitengu such a sympathetic character. Despite all the evil he's done and how twisted he is, after all he's been through, you have to pity the man.

Suitengu seems to have built his actions up in his mind into some destiny inspired mission as he waxes lyrical about how he and Kagura were destined to destroy the corrupt and change the world. But he keeps comparing her to his sister (which again shows how twisted his motivations have become - he never would have treated his sister like he has Kagura) and Saiga tries to get through to him to no avail. Saiga should have tried a different argument: 1/ Kagura's dying anyway and 2/ even if the Doc can save her, when her menstrual cycle begins, she'll lose her powers. Either way, she will no longer be able to create Euphorics.

Ginza's battle with Tsujido and Makabe ends with both dead, though Ginza did offer to Tsujido to let him walk out but he declined her offer. Did see a new side to him - the ability to turn into a wolf.

As America's military continues to fire on the building, Suitengu is buried under the rubble and Saiga finds Ginza at the rooftop estate. Together they look for Kagura but when Saiga finds her, she's alive but declares she wants to die. She can't live with the monsters she's created. Ginza must witness Saiga's declaration of love. "I love you, don't you know that? Keep on living - for *me*." Suitengu arrives and Saiga must trust Kagura to Ginza's care. I enjoyed Ginza's outburst - did Kagura know how hard it was for her to hear Saiga's words? The words he should have said to *her*? Ginza would be happy to kill her but can't - she promised Saiga and she's trying to change, so if she did, she truly would be a lost cause.

Saiga loses the final battle with Suitengu, finally going blind in the process. But Suitengu doesn't kill him, instead sparing him, placing him safely on a nearby rooftop before committing suicide, taking the Tennozu Tower (and the world economy) with him. Maybe Suitengu will find the peace he craved. The tower is destroyed in a blaze of cleansing fire, taking the imprisoned club members with it. Maybe Japan can have a fresh start, maybe Suitengu was onto something.

Five years later: the Doc and Ginza have hooked up, heading off to Africa, taking Kagura with them. David is now a photographer, and though blind, Saiga keeps playing with his cameras, able to take photos now his powers are gone, even if he can't see them. Hearing footsteps, Saiga mutters "It's about time." and the beautiful twenty year old Kagura steps onto the rooftop, her eyes shining at the sight of her Saiga, "I've come home."

Absolutely love this series, don't know what could possibly replace it but it ended as it began: brilliantly. A highly satisfactory conclusion.moreless
  • With all wonderful shows, there is always an end, and at least Show Grapher goes out with a bang, a whoop, and a HECK YEAH!

So sad! So SAD!! AHH, IT'S OVER! Now I actually have to do my homework instead of watching the show. Oh, wait, I can start all over again! Sqeeee! But honestly, a wonderful ending to an absolutely fabulous show. It graces you with such conflicting feelings that you aren't sure what you want in the end. Well, you want a happy ending, to be sure, but you don't know what would make you happy! I mean, you always considered Suitengu to be the bad guy, the Big Bad, the ultimate evil of the show... and then you realize about his past, and his sister, and his motives, and GAH! No crying, no crying, I refuse to cry. You feel for the main villain, and a part of you actually wants him to succeed. Well, yes, he did succeed in his ultimate plan... but did he have to die?!?!? Ah! I'm cool, I'm good, I'm fine. Blah. Honestly, and Saiga and Kagura? I mean, you know that it is insanely wrong for them to be together, but you still want it to happen! I wish they did tell you want Saiga's actual age was. Then again, maybe I don't know, makes it less sick. All right, still sick, but that's the show for you! So, yeah, in the end, she's twenty, and she still comes back! Sqeeeee! It makes me a very happy person. Very, very happy. Yes, I am sap, leave me alone. And who would have thought that Ginza and the Doc would get together? That was a shocker. But Ginza's line at the end was so brilliant. Got to give that lady her chops, she gets some awesome lines. Dirty, obscene lines... but awesome nonetheless. Oh, oh, and Makabe and Tsujido staying with Suitengu! Make me weep, already! That was so sweet! Yes... I find it sweet that two murders are staying with their murderous boss. I'm interesting, live with it. Fabulous ending, fabulous show. I think I'm going to start the whole thing over again... muah hah!moreless

    • Saiga: I've gone over it in my head a thousand times and I've no idea why Suitengu saved my life. He got his revenge – this country was plunged into bankruptcy, the collapse heard around the world… they called it the Roppongi Crisis and it turned everything upside down.

    • Saiga: Ginza, take Kagura and get out of here. Make sure she's safe, let Doc help her then leave Japan. Go somewhere no-one will ever find her. It's time for me to end things with him [Suitengu].
      Ginza: Saiga…
Saiga: I know I've got no right to ask you to do this… but you're the only one I have left I can turn to.

    • Kagura: What Suitengu said about me was right – it's my destiny to die in this building with him. Don't worry about me, it's more important that you live.
Saiga: That's insane! You haven't lived half as long as me! Forget about destiny! Grow, see the world! Then you can act like you know what's best for you!
Kagura: (crying) I want to thank you, Saiga. I'm so glad I got to meet you, it may not have been very long but I never felt happiness like that before.
Saiga: You think dying will solve everything? What about my feelings? The feelings I have for you? I told you I'd make you free, Kagura, how will I keep my promise?
      Kagura: But, Saiga…
Saiga: I love you, don't you know that? Please go on living… for me.
