Spice Up My Kitchen

Show Summary

Spice Up My Kitchen is a home improvement reality TV series developed by HGtv that centers on home designer Lauren Lake and skilled carpenter Jeff Devlin as they help homeowners transform an awful kitchen into a fabulous place to set up culinary shop in. The process of Spice Up My Kitchen is simple ' Lauren and Jeff meet with homeowners whose homes would be perfect if it was not for the kitchen. Whether it is because it was stuck a few decades in the past, has a paint job worthy of a two-year-old, or a disruptive layout, these kitchens have turned a room meant to be food-friendly haven to a forgotten room housing the take-out wares. After the homeowners give Lauren and Jeff their hopes and dreams for their ideal kitchen, they are given two options to run with and in the end Spice Up My Kitchen gives these disgruntled homeowners a brand new space fit to eat in.

  • What was the designer thinking?

I just watched my first show of "Spice Up My Kitchen". I admit the before kitchen was ugly, but the designer didn't improve it much for $43,000. The walls were painted an ugly fuchsia. The black appliances and black counter tops were too much black. The light cherry floors and dark cherry cabinets were too much wood. The microwave drawer were not practical. BAD, BAD, BAD!!! That designer is terrible. I will not be watching this show again. She has no taste at all. I wouldn't giver her a dime to do my kitchen, she would have to pay me and then I would re-do it after she left, well, maybe start before she left so she would get the idea that her ideas are so very bad.moreless
