  • Great conclusion to the first part.

Carnage tries to kill Spider-Man, but Venom stops him and they start fighting. Mordo stops them and says that they need the device that Stark Enterprises has. Carnage and Venom get it and go back to Mordo and Dormammu. Dormammu says that he needs the energy of human lives to be free, along with the device that they stole. Carnage starts absorbing lives for Dormammu.

Meanwhile, Connors and Kafka have freed Brock from Venom. But, the last life energy that Carnage absorbed was Kafka, so Brock becomes Venom again. Spider-Man and Venom decide to team up in order to stop Mordo and Carnage from freeing Dormammu. Iron Man is sent to help Spider-Man and Venom, too. There's one last fight, but Mordo and Carnage free Dormammu. A few seconds later, he is sent back into his dimension. He won't go completely because Carnage and Dormammu have a strong bond, so they need to send Carnage in, too. He says he won't go alone, so he grabs Kafka. Brock takes control of himself and saves Kafka, but Venom gets sucked into the dimension as well. I assume Mordo was arrested. Anyways, everybody's life energy is returned to them.

(I tried my best to sum the plot up).

This was a great conclusion to the first episode, although I wish Dormammu had put up more of a fight. It had just as much action as the first one, and I was right about Venom and Carnage fighting. It's a shame that Brock had to supposedly "Die" at the end, but, oh well. Overall, this episode had great action, but Dormammu went too easily, and great plot, similar to the first plot. Spider-Man learns to keep his friends close and enemies closer in this episode and he did.

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Goof: When Dr. Kafka leaves the lab to see if she can help Carnage, the following shot on Dr. Connors shows him with a right arm and missing his left arm when technically, he's supposed to have only his left arm with the right one missing.

  • QUOTES (7)

    • Carnage: (After being hit towards the portal) I'm not going alone! (Starts to pull Ashley with him, only to have Venom kick him into the portal)
      Ashley: Eddie!
Venom: (showing his Eddie Brock face) I'll always love you!
(Iron man smashes the projector to close the portal)

    • (as Baron Mordo attacks)
Spider-Man: Careful! They're some kind of mystic bolts!
Iron Man: Didn't think they were spitwads!

    • Spider-Man: You think you can hold them off without me?
      Venom: Who needs you?

    • Carnage: [To Terry Lee] My...aren't we inhospitable!
      Spider-Man: I'll show you inhospitable!
      [Knocks Carnage away]
Carnage: Aww, you ruined my surprise!

    • [Jameson tries to unmask Spider-Man, but War Machine stops him]
War Machine: I think he looks better with it on.
Jameson: Hey, I'm a member of the press and this badge gives me the right to do so!
War Machine: [grabs badge and crushes it] I don't see no stinkin' badge.

    • Madame Web: Remember Spider-Man. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.

    • [Iron Man has smashed the portal machine]
Spider-Man: Hey, that thing belonged to Stark Industries!
Iron Man: If Tony Stark has a problem with it, he can take it up with me.

  • NOTES (2)

    • The last appearance of Dormammu in the series (aside from a flashback in "Goblin Wars"). Though there were plans for him to make another appearance.

The proposed episode would feature Dormammu and Mysterio, as well as an appearance by Ghost Rider. The episode didn't make it into production as there were plans by UPN to use Ghost Rider.

    • This episode in certain aspects reunites Christopher Daniel Barnes (voice of Spider-Man) with Robert Hays (voice of Iron Man). The two starred together in the short-lived TV series Starman, which was a followup of the original same-titled movie that starred Jeff Bridges. In the TV series, Hays played the non-corporeal alien who returns to Earth and takes the form of the late Paul Forrester, who eventually finds his half-alien son (played by Barnes) as the two search for his mother and are constantly on the run from the authorities seeking to capture and study them.

    • War Machine: I don't see no stinkin' badge!
This is a reference to the classic line, "Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges!" -Gold Hat, as played by Alfonso Bedoya. One of the most commonly misquoted lines from pop culture, it's usually quoted as "Badges? We don't need no stinkin' badges!"
