After Peter's spider sense warns him that a bomb dart with a timer is attached to the Mayor's limo, he rushes off to change. At the time, he was taking pictures with a digital camera/video recorder. But when he runs into an alley, the camera is no longer in his hand (it's far too big to fit into his pocket). Moments later, when he swings into action as Spider-Man, he fires a web which attaches the camera to a wall (to take pictures of the resulting action). But he wasn't holding the camera when he fired the web. Just like his outer clothes, Peter Parker's camera seems to magically disappear and reappear at will.
The amazing wall-crawler acts quite a bit more like The Flash during a few costume changes in this episode (and part of the inexplicable "quick changes" that producers decided to make a staple for Peter Parker's transformations from student to superhero in this series). After Peter's spider sense warns him that an explosive dart is lodged in the mayor's limo, he runs into an alley to change. But once there, he leaps up towards a building roof as Peter Parker. When he lands on the roof a half-second later, he's somehow (in mid-air and off camera) instantly changed into his full Spider-Man costume. Later, after his apartment is invaded by Silver Sable and her goons, Peter swiftly crawls across the ceiling and emerges from the attic window only a second later as Spider-Man. Finally, after learning his friends have been kidnapped, Peter leaps off the roof of a television news station. He free-falls out of frame for a split nanosecond, then pops back into the shot completely in costume before swinging away as Spider-Man.
Harry: Two women, both into Peter. If he plays his cards right ... nah!
Spider-Man: After hours sale? Or just applying for the Winona discount.
Harry: Hello. Non-Vulcans present. Please speak out loud.
In the Spider-Man comics, the Silver Sable is an ally of Spider-Man. Here, she's treated as a villainous assassin.
Once again, Spidey utters his trademark line for the series: "Seriously, ow!"
The telescoping metal rods Silver Sable uses are called Asps. They're also used by some law enforcement agents (like agents of the U.S. Secret Service) as a secondary weapon.
Canada airdate: November 7, 2003.
The episode was originally titled "Shutterbuggery."
Harry: And on that Hardy Boy note, cocktail, anyone?
Spider-Man: After-hours sale, or just applying the Winona Ryder discount?
In December 2001, Winona Ryder was arrested for allegedly stealing $5,000 worth of merchandise from the Saks Fifth Avenue in Beverly Hills.
