The beastials use a new weapon on Venom, separating the symbiote from his host, Eddie Brock. But alone, Eddie can't survive, leaving Spidey the choice between watching Eddie die, or recreating one of his worst enemies.

Arguably the best episode of the entire series.

This is arguably the best episode this series has to offer. The only thing that disappointed me was that, by exploring Venom's origin, the episode proves there is absolutely no continuity between this show and the previous (and much better) Spider-man: The Animated Series. This kind of ruined the episode for me, but I guess it could have been worse. Venom's origin starts off with some flashbacks from the Spider-man: The Animated Series episodes in which he made his debut (but re-animated, to fit in with the style of the current series), but towards the end everything is changed and it is nothing compared to the original Venom origin we were offered in Spider-man: The Animated Series.

The highlight of the episode is, in my opinion, at least, the moment in which Spider-man decides to help Brock, and dons the Black Costume once again. I have always liked that costume, and seeing it again was a surprise. Even though it was always present on Venom throughout the series, I think it looks a lot better on Peter Parker. And the animation style for this episode was better, compared to the ones so far, and Spidey's Black Costume was no exception. Over all, a good episode, easily better than anything this series made so far or will make after it.moreless
