  • A rare example of a good new episode

I agree with jmbsonic555, except I actually liked the first episode (Back to the Past) a little better. This aired on November 28 and December 22.

These episodes were very good, but TBGCfV was a little better.

Back to the Past- An OK episode, but the ending stunk IMO. Also, the ending is either really funny or it is lazy and makes absolutely no sense. Those are about the only two ways to look at it, I thought

Bad Guy Club- an episode of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy... nothing special, I didn't think.

another two mediocre episodes, I know I don't sound like a fan, but trust me, in the earlier years, I was, this show was great! But the writing is really bad nowadays IMO. Hopefully episodes like this are not made in the future IMOmoreless
  • Can You Say, "Backdoor Pilot"?

    1.0
I feel that the sponge has finally jumped the shark. Maybe it is time to retire Spongebob. These episodes were quite dull in my humble opinion. Spongebob and Patrick were hardly even in "The Bad Guy Club for Villains". The two episodes hear were almost all Mermaid Man and Barnicle Boy. The second episode was almost as if they were trying to show a backdoor pilot for Mermaid Man and Barnicle Boy. All Spongebob and Patrick actually even did in that episode was watch TV. I must say that after seeing these rwo episodes, I can only give them both a very generous one.moreless
  • "Back to the Past" was spectacular and "The Bad Guy Club for Villains" was just decent but not great

    8.5
Back to the Past: I loved this episode and I thought it was the most spectacular episode of SpongeBob I've ever seen. The whole plot was very well-written. I thought it was cool to see MermaidMan and BarnacleBoy again. I also loved that Adam West and Burt Ward guest starred in this episode as Young MermaidMan and Young BarnacleBoy. I thought it was a thrill of a ride when SpongeBob, Patrick, MermaidMan, and BarnacleBoy went to the past after Patrick stupidly pressed the past button. I thought it was funny when Squilliam randomly said "ManRay is great". I thought SpongeBob and Patrick trying to get the young MermaidMan and Young BarnacleBoy (who are now old because SpongeBob and Patrick went into a different time) was epic because they want to try to get them back so they can defeat ManRay while the Old MermaidMan and BarnacleBoy died because SpongeBob and Patrick were at a different time. It was funny that Patrick kept eating the tartar sauce and it was funny that all of the time machines are all of a sudden coming and it's getting ManRay confused. Also, this episode is 3 or 4 minutes longer than any other SpongeBob episodes because the SpongeBob episodes are usually 11 minutes but this episode was 15 minutes long. I just don't understand where a million time machines are coming from with a million SpongeBobs and Patricks? but oh well. Overall, this was the most epic episode of SpongeBob that I have ever seen. 10/10

The Bad Guy Club for Villains: I didn't think this episode was as amazing as "Back to the Past" but it was overall a good episode maybe not great but it's overall good. This episode only involved SpongeBob and Patrick watching a MermaidMan and BarnacleBoy episode. Also, because "Back to the Past" was 15 minutes long, this episode was 8 minutes long. I wish Adam West and Burt Ward voiced as Young MermaidMan and BarnacleBoy just like the first one because with Ernest Borgnine and Tim Conway voicing as them, they sound old (no offense since I love their work). I just found it distrubing that BarnacleBoy got an arm on his shoulder after he got nuclear touch. It was also cool to see the Dirty Bubble again because he hasn't been in SpongeBob for a long time. I am also glad that the writers remembered "The International Justice League of Super Acquaintances" but the writer changed them up a little like "where the heck is The Quickster?". I think I only laughed once in this episode and that was when SpongeBob and Patrick were interrupted for several seconds and SpongeBob fixed the tape. Overall, this was a good episode but it wasn't that great. 7/10moreless
