  • Other than a few funny scenes, this is not that great.

At a rennaisance festival, Spongebob and Patrick get sent back to the Medieval days of Bikini Bottom, and are destined to save it from the evil wizard Planktonimor.
This episode was animated greatly, with a surprisingly original plot (for Spongebob that is). But the jokes fell flat except for a few. The characters are what I expected, but the execution was not that great.
It just didn't work for me, other than the reasons above, I don't know why.moreless

  • Another great Spongebob special!

This has to be one of the best episodes EVER! It has some very hysterical scenes and lines. I love when they are jousting on seahorses. Then thay get knocked off their horses, and fall into Medevil Bikini Bottom. They soon meet Squidly, who cured his great-great-great-great-great grandson, Squidward. Sponge and Pat soon have to rescue princess Pearl. The first half is pretty boring, but the second half makes up for that. Including a very funny karate scene with Spongebob and Sandy Cheeks(The black knight) I highly reccemond this episode to all Spongebob fans. And remember this quote: Spongebob: We can't fight the dragon with only our bare hands" Patrick: Yeah, we need some gloves. Haa!moreless

  • This was a great special of "SpongeBob SquarePants"

I thought that this was a great special of "SpongeBob SquarePants" and I thought that it was a well written special. SpongeBob and Patrick going into the medieval times after that joust accident was a very interesting and funny idea. SpongeBob and Patrick meeting Squidly (the king's royal fool) was very funny. Squidly singing his songs in this special were very funny. SpongeBob and Patrick being the heroes to save the King's daughter was very funny. I thought it was very funny and awesome when SpongeBob said "Greetings Iron Man" to the guy making the medieval weapons. SpongeBob wearing that knight suit was also pretty cool. I thought it was very funny when SpongeBob, Patrick, and Squidly ran into Medieval Sandy and then SpongeBob and Sandy (medieval) would karate chop each other. The gang climbing up those stairs and getting tired because there are so many was funny. It was very funny when Planktonamor's shocking powers tickles SpongeBob. The jellyfish enjoying the krabby patties was also funny. The ending was also funny when Patrick was squishing Squidly. The thing that brought down my score was when Medieval Sandy was saved by Patrick's saliva (which was disgusting obviously) and some scenes could have been better. Overall, this was a great "SpongeBob SquarePants" special. 8.5/10moreless

  • Another great Spongebob special

In this episode, Spongebob and Patrick go to a medievil festival and participate in a joust, when they're knocked out, and sent back into medievil times! They are then captured by the king's army, where they meet Squidly, and learn of the evil wizard, Planktor, and his giant jellyfish monster. He then captures the king's daughter, and Spongebob and Patrick go out to save her and stop Planktor. They travel and meet a black knight who agrees to help them. Will they succeed? For the most part, this is one of the best episodes of season 4, the end is kind of lazy, and there was a part or 2 that was boring, but for the most part I throughly enjoyed this special. 8.5/10 B+moreless

  • Trivia

    ADD TRIVIA
    • For some odd reason, Nickelodeon airs this special more often than the rest of the other specials in the series. Edit
    • It would be just a tad odd that SpongeBob wouldn't do so well in the seahorse tournament because before, he rode Mystery, who was also a seahorse, just fine. Edit
    • It's possible that the adventure SpongeBob and Patrick go through is based on the plot for the original Super Mario Bros. game. For example, SpongeBob has to travel to Planktonimars castle and rescue Princess Pearl, a possible reference to Mario going to Bowser's castle to save Princess Peach. Edit

    ADD NOTES
    • Nicktoons Network airdate: December 10, 2008 Edit
    • SpongeBob and Patrick were never meant to be the ones who go to save the town from Planktonimor. Actually, it was another sponge and starfish, who were stronger than SpongeBob and Patrick. However, for some unknown reason, this scene was later cut from the episode and had never aired on Nick. Edit
    • This is the only special that Patchy did not host. Edit
