When SpongeBob says "OOH! Company!" He PUTS HIS HANDS TOGETHER and THEN scratches his head. Since the Ick ended up on SpongeBob's head, shouldn't it've ended up on SpongeBob's hands as well?
In "Nature Pants" and "Patty Hype," SpongeBob serves French Fries. In this episode, fries are replaced with coral bits.
Why did SpongeBob have to pay Mr. Krabs to have his own pet clean the "Ick" from him? He could have easily had Gary clean the "Ick" at home.
In "Fungus Among Us," Squidward says that SpongeBob infected the entire Krusty Krab. But it was Squidward who infected everyone by getting Ick on the customers food and SpongeBob only infected Squidward.
In "Le Big Switch," screaming is heard, but the people's lips are closed.
SpongeBob can only make krabby meals as well (especially krabby patties).
Ick is an actual, highly contagious disease affecting fish. However, it is not a fungus but a parasitic protozoan. It is also not green but accumulates on the fish's skin as white cysts, giving it its other name "white spot disease".
At first, the ick was itchy, but when the Krusty Krab got infected, no one was itching.
In this episode SpongeBob switches with somebody. He does the same in many other episodes.
When Patrick came to SpongeBob for the first time, SpongeBob started scratching the fungus. Fungus started falling off. However, it didn't stick to his hands, neither did it end up on the floor. That was impossible, since he wasn't in a bubble.
Head Chef: What is this rubbish?! I would not wipe my own bottom with this! (smacks the chef with the steak) Start over! And this, (slurps then spits) I would not wash my own bottom this, after carefully wiping and wiping. (smacks the chef) Now go, stand in the corner and think about what you have done. And where is my exchange chef?!
SpongeBob: Uh, right here, sir.
Mr. Krabs: Hey, Squidward, look at this! (holds up a plate with a small fruit on it) We're charging 52 smackers for this little guy. (laughs and then Squidward smells its horrible smell)
Mr. Krabs: Hey, there's no need to fight.
Fish: (after Gary is done cleaning Squidward) Oh, oh, me next!
Lady Fish: Where are your manners? It's ladies first!
Patrick: I believe the expression is Starfish first.
Squidward: (gasping) That's no blemish! That's ick!
SpongeBob: Help me!
Squidward: (dialing the phone) Oh, I'll help you, alright!
SpongeBob: Oh, my gosh! Your bowl is empty!
(zooms to an empty bowl)
SpongeBob: Oh hi, Squidward!
Squidward: SpongeBob - why are you so, puffy?
SpongeBob: Uh, whatty?
Squidward: Your skin, SpongeBob! What's wrong with your skin?
SpongeBob: Oohhh, that! It's nothing, really Squidward. Just a little blemish - that's all!
Squidward: SpongeBob gave me the ick, and I gave it to all you people!
(the crowd approaches angrily)

Ick is an itchy, quickly spreading disease. Chicken Pox is a similar disease, when people get covered quickly in red, itchy spots that spread easily.
The title "Fungus Among Us" is probably an allusion to "Fungus Amongus," the first record of the alternative/rock band Incubus.
Ick, being a very contagious parasitic fungus covering the entire body, sounds like another fungus called ringworm. Ringworm is a parasitic fungus that looks like a round spot on your skin. If untreated quickly, the ringworm fungus can cover the body and spread to other organisms.
