Episode Summary

Squidward has had enough of SpongeBob's incessant laughter, so he tricks his neighbor into believing that SpongeBob has a laugh-related illness. According to the made-up disease, if SpongeBob laughs one more time in the next 24 hours, his laugh box will explode and he will never laugh or giggle again. For the rest of the day, SpongeBob fights every single urge to chuckle. The next morning, SpongeBob discovers that he has completely lost the ability to laugh. Now, utterly grief stricken, all SpongeBob can do is cry his eyes out.. Will SpongeBob ever regain the ability to laugh?moreless

  • Okay I agree that this episode can get a little annoying but if you look past that... this is actually a perfect episode

    Despite SpongeBob being a little annoying by laughing non-stop in the beginning and little of the end, this is one of my favorite episodes. I know SpongeBob was a little annoying in the beginning but I thought Squidward was being kinda mean when he told SpongeBob that his laugh box was gone. SpongeBob trying not to laugh was funny especially with the pie truck and the whoopie cushions. I also thought it was hilarious when Patrick went inside SpongeBob's mouth and lit it and SpongeBob had smoke coming out of him and Patrick was running and coughing. SpongeBob crying at his house was also a little annoying but it was funny that he cried so much that he flooded Squidward's house. Squidward losing his laugh box and going to the hospital at the end was also hilarious. So who gave Squidward their laugh? Was it Mr. Krabs? No. Was it Sandy? No. Was it Patrick? No. Was it SpongeBob? Yes. Squidward laughing like SpongeBob was so funny and kinda weird and kinda annoying. Overall, despite some of the annoying scenes, this was a perfect episode. 10/10moreless

    this episode is not so good i dont really like it because it has too many jokes in it also his laugh gets pretty annoying in this episode also the ending made no sense whatsoever but you are probaly wondering why i gave this episode a good score even though i mentioned so many things wrong with this episode well throughout most of the episode it did have quite a nice laugh i thought it was funny when a pie truck exploded and dropped all of the pies everywhere that was very funny and one more thing i liked it when patrick sticked a fire torchure in spongebob;s mouth that was also very funny so i give this episode a 7/10 C- kingnicky1 outmoreless

    This is easily one of, if not, the most annoying episode of Spongebob in season 4. In this episode of Spongebob, Squidward says another day, another nickel, and Spongebob believes it is a joke ,and laughs constantly in this episode. I was staring at the TV wondering what was so funny, and how it is amusing at all. I mean is it really hearing that phrase at all? Last time I checked it wasn't a joke. So after dealing with Spongebob's annoying laugh for like 3 minutes, Squidward decides to get back at Spongebob. He tells Spongebob about a disease that could destroy his laughing box if he laughed to much, and advises him to not laugh at all. Throughout the day Spongebob deals with Patrick slipping on a banana peel, and a truck carrying whoppie cushions crash into a truck with pies, and he tries not to laugh. After going through one day of not laughing, Spongebob finds out he can't laugh at all, and he starts crying. Squidward eventually feels bad about what he did, and tries to get Spongebob to laugh again, but he laughs and breaks his laugh box. Spongebob ends up donating a part of his laugh box to Squidward to help him. Squidward starts laughing like Spongebob, and he goes crazy and bursts through a wall running like mad. This was such an annoying episode. Having to hear Spongebob laugh AND cry in this episode constantly was not needed at all. Aside from the antics of Patrick, and the trucks colliding there was nothing else funny it was just plain annoying.

    This episode is my favorite episode. It's so funny. It starts off with this classic scene. Spongebob: Time for work Squidward! Another day, another dollar. Squidward: More like another nickel. Spongebob: Bahahahah! Nickel! Good one Squidward!

    Spongebob starts to laugh for the whole day, much to Squidward's dismay. Soon Squidward makes up a lie to get Spongebob to stop laughing. If he laughs too much, his laugh box will break. Scared by this, spongebob loses the ability to laugh. He gets help from his friends, but non of the advice works. Spongebob goes into a manic depression. Squidward tells him it was all a joke. Laughing because of this, Squidward broke his laugh box, and half of his is spongebob's.moreless
