VERY overrated episode. No laughs, no, emotion, no nothing. I am a person who finds shows and movies emotional, but this didn't work.

In my opinion Spongebob was a complete jerk in the beginning of this episode. He completely ignored Gary. If I were Gary, I'd never come back. He ignored Gary... for a Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy Dirty Bubble challenge.

So, Gary leaves, and vows to never come back. I don't blame him. After a week, Spongebob realizes his mistake, and goes to find him. Even using an okay song. Gary ends up with this old lady, who apparently cant see well. And she also saves their dead shells. I found that sick and disgusting. Then he went back to Spongebob.

This episode is greatly overrated, and is a complete waste of time.

Gary runs home

I thought this is a very excellent special. Just before I go talk about this episode, I noticed the first half of season 4 kinda felt like pre-movie because it still a few old writers left, the character designer was still Todd White, and of course, the storyboard supervisor was Sherm Cohen until the next episode. That's how I kinda noticed after rewatching that it felt like season 3 due to them. Anyway, the episode itself was kinda sad like in the song. I still remembered the day I watch when it aired (I think this was the first season 4 episode I ever saw during its premiere date) It had funny parts...SpongeBob playing with paddle ball, Patrick eating the 10 day milk, SpongeBob and Patrick arriving at Squidward's house (LOL moment...he screamed for 15 seconds. This is how it got famous on YouTube), Grandma finding Gary and referring him as Ms. Tufsy (?), after the song ends, Patrick messes up the sign and put "Lisa, would you marry me?" and then the woman asked "Who is this Lisa person?" and she slapped the man, and a couple more. A great and kinda sad special overall. 10/10moreless

My Rating Totally Goes Against My Name, But Whatever.

I thought that SpongeBob was a total jerk and extremely OOC. I remember that one episode where he went to that convention and made sure that Gary was in good hands. And when idiot Squidward didn't feed him for three days, he was so distraught. It seems that in this episode, all he was concerned about was beating some stupid record. Anyway, Gary id hungry and he can't feed himself. Ummm, the snail can tie his shoes and play the violin, but he's incapable of feeding himself? Whatever... So SpongeBob continues being a jerk, and Gary runs away from home. Patrick snaps him out of it and I must admit, it was really heart-warming to see how much he (SpongeBob) cared once he came back to his senses. He gets adopted by some old lady who mistakes him for another snail she owned, Ms. Tufsy. Anyway, she overfeeds him, and he finds SpongeBob's ads in the papers. He's convinced he should return home when he finds cracked snail shells in the old snail lady's closet and he leaves and returns to Spongebob. I don't know what happened. When I was younger, I thought they just died cause they were too fat, but people said that crazy snail lady ate them? ? Dafuq? Anyway, SpongeBob and Gary are happy. Yay..

One more thing. I HATED how selfish and unhelpful Mr. Krabs was in this. There are times where I just want to enter the TV and punch him in his face. The tears in the Krabby Patty was pretty gross though. Wtf..

Anyway, final grade: Bmoreless

One day, SpongeBob receives his Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy paddle ball, and tries to defeat the dirty bubble challenge, of hitting 29 trillion in row. He tries repeatedly, but continually fails. He neglects Gary in the process, and he soon leaves to find an owner who'll remember to feed him. About a week or so later, Patrick goes to check on SpongeBob, and that's when they realize Gary's gone. They then find a letter Gary left, detailing why he left. They then decide to look for Gary, by putting up missing posters. Meanwhile, Gary has found a new owner, in an old lady who feeds him endless amounts of snacks, and gives him love. Meanwhile SpongeBob and Patrick are looking continually, when they go to the convenience store, where Gary and the old lady are also. Patrick asks the old lady about the scented pine cones on sale, and walks right past Gary. Later, SpongeBob is depressed at home without Gary and is looking through the memories of they're time together, as he cries himself to sleep. Later, Gary is looking through the house, and sees the old lady collected missing posters of Gary given to her by SpongeBob. He then goes into a wrong closet and finds out that it's filled with dead snails! She's going to stuff him up until he dies. Gary then escapes the house, and eventually loses the old lady. The next day, SpongeBob is looking at a billboard for Gary, wishing he could hear him meowing, and then he looks up and there's Gary! Ans SpongeBob and Gary go home to be happy again.
