When SpongeBob first gets hooked, it is attached only to his pants, but when he takes off his pants, it appears to also be attached to his tighty whities.
SpongeBob pops the Dirty Bubble in this episode, yet in other episodes, he is alive and well.
In "Hooky", how can the fishermen have so much trouble pulling up SpongeBob and Patrick if they weren't pulling back?
The man that was shown in "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy II" is the guard for Nickeledeon.
In "Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy II," the narrator said SpongeBob is enjoying his Saturday morning show, but the only day he stays home is Sunday, so he should have been at work.
But in episodes like Stanley S. SquarePants, SpongeBob worked the afternoon shift. And in Bubble Buddy, he had a day off.
The Dirty Bubble is SpongeBob's favorite villain.
Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy are unable to find the Invisible Boatmobile half the time, yet they know where all its controls are.
This is the second time Squidward took over SpongeBob's job as fry cook, and once again, he cooks terribly.
These episodes are on the SpongeBob SquarePants: Game Boy Advance Video Volume 3, along with the episodes, "Texas / Walking Small."
"Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy II" was at first going to be called "Words or Less."
In one scene, the bubbles showing the scene transitions look different.
Spongebob's hook keeps changing colors.
Squidward hooked Spongebob from above the ocean surface, yet he was in the Krusty Krab the whole time.
When Mermaid Man & Barnacle Boy sneak out of the restaurant, their plates are empty except for crumbs. However, when SpongeBob returns to the table, there appears to be a bun/piece of bread of one of their plates.
Mr. Krabs said no one ever took breaks at the Krusty Krab. If that's true, then how come Mr. Krabs gave Spongebob the day off in both "Pickles" and "Suds"?
When Sponge was going to work he was going west. But when he hooked he went east then he was at the Krusty Krab
When Mermaid Man holds up a picture of a baby Barnacle Boy, BB has that big nose. But in the first "Mermaid man and Barnacle Boy" when they show a young version of Barnacle Boy, he doesn't have that big nose!
Patrick: Are you going to listen to a big dummy, or are you going to listen to me?
Squidward: I think he'll remember this one for a long time. I know I will.
Mr. Krabs: What did I tell you about those hooks?
Mr. Krabs: They should be right here.
SpongeBob: Mr. Krabs, I'm so ashamed, just look at me, I'm hooked.
SpongeBob: I guess I didn't.
SpongeBob: This isn't a carnival, they look like hooks to me.
SpongeBob: We're sorry, Mr. Krabs.
SpongeBob: Patrick, you're alive!
Patrick: SpongeBob, you're going the wrong way.
SpongeBob: Patrick, don't do that!
Patrick: Hello! Does somebody have a can opener?
SpongeBob: Be careful, Patrick, those are hooks, and Mr. Krabs says they're really dangerous!
Mermaid Man: They don't tell us anything anymore.
Barnacle Boy: I'll destroy this when I get to the Mermalair.
SpongeBob: You're my most favorite villain! Can I have your autograph?
Mr. Krabs: I'm going to need a Sailor's promise. Repeat after me: Yo-ho, Yo-ho, near the hooks I'll never go.
SpongeBob & Patrick: Yo-ho, Yo-ho, near the hooks I'll never go.
(a hook pokes Mr. Krabs' backside)
Mr. Krabs: Yow! Mother of Pearl! Fire on the poopdeck!
SpongeBob & Patrick: Yow! Mother of Pearl! Fire on the poopdeck!
(after SpongeBob tackles Old Atomic Flounder)
Old Atomic Flounder: If I weren't retired, I'd... I'd... (roars and fires an atomic blast at Barnacle Boy, vaporizing his head) ... do that.
(after SpongeBob blows the Conch Signal too much)
Barnacle Boy: That's it! Give me that! You're running us ragged!
Mermaid Man: (exhausted) Must... must answer... the... Clarion Call. (collapses)
First Fish: You call this food?
Second Fish: My sandwich tastes like a fried boot.
Third Fish: My sandwich is a fried boot.
Patrick: (at the Krusty Krab) Hey SpongeBob, the carnival's in town!
Dirty Bubble: You cannot help them, sponge-of-mystery! They are trapped beneath my awesome Surface Tension!
SpongeBob, Mermaidman, and Barnacle Boy: (singing) Jingle Bells, Mermaidman smells, Barnacle Boy laid an egg. The Dirty Bubble popped, and Mermaidman, Barnacle Boy, and SpongeBob got away!!
Barnacleboy: You can't even remember breakfast, you old coot!
Mr Krabs: Yo-Ho, Yo-Ho! Near the hooks we'll never go.
Spongebob & Patrick: Yo-Ho, Yo-Ho! Near the hooks we'll never go.
Mr Krabs: Yeeoww! Mother of Pearl. Fire on the poop deck.
Spongebob & Patrick: Yeeoww! Mother of Pearl. Fire on the poop deck.
Patrick: (While taking off on hook shaped like horse with Spongebob) Hiho Silverfish!
Dirty Bubble: You can't save them, Sponge of Mystery!
Mermaid Man: Now Barnacleboy, don't squash his enthusiasm. He may be the hero of tomorrow...or the villain.
Announcer Fish: And the winner is... SpringBoob SquierPin.
SpongeBob: Ahh, I worked forever on those life-size Krabby Patty managins of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy.
Announcer Fish: For these life-size Krabby Patty managins of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy.
SpongeBob: Hey, SpringBoob SquierPin stole my idea.
Mr. Krabs: Mr. Squidward, do you think the lad learned his lesson?
Squidward: Oh, he'll remember this for a long time.
(both laugh)
(Talking about the hooks)
Mr. Krabs: You weren't playing near those hooks, where you, lad?
Spongebob: Uh, no. (Gets pulled away by hook) I mean, not exactly. (Gets pulled away by hook) I mean YES!!! Yes, I did! I mean, just look at me! I'm hooked!
Mr. Krabs: (Sees the hook attached to Spongebob's pants) Hmm, it's in there pretty deep.
Spongebob: What am I gonna do?!
Mr. Krabs: Only one thing to do.
Girls: Ha, ha, ha, ha!
Spongebob: Oh, no Mr. Krabs! I can't take off my pants! Not in front of all these girls! (Gets pulled away by hook) All right! I'm taking 'em off! I'm taking 'em off! (Pulls his pants off) There!
Mr. Krabs: Uh, lad.
Spongebob: (Sees hook attached to his underwear) Oh no, Mr. Krabs! No that! Anything but that!
Mr. Krabs: Well, so long Spongebob. You were a good little frycook. (Puts "Help Wanted" sign on window) Maybe we'll find another frycook that'll listen to ol' Mr. Krabs.
Patrick: (Sitting on a hook) I sense no danger here.
SpongeBob: How come nobody's here?
Patrick: I don't know; there was one kid here earlier.
Mr. Krabs: The hooks, the hooks!
Fish: Could you make that to go?
Squidward: (Talking to fish) You don't know how lucky you are.
Patrick: We're going to the carnival, going to the carnivaaaal (Fell on his face). Going to the carnival, going to the carnival.
SpongeBob: (Talking about Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy's theme song) I found it! And it's the special dance mix!
Pearl: Oh, look! It's SpongeBob NudiePants! (laughs)
Patrick: (With eight hooks sticking out of his mouth) Does this look dangerous to you?
SpongeBob: Help... can't... open mayonnaise!
Barnacle Boy: You made me come all the way over here in my underwear to open a jar of mayonnaise?!
Goof: Mr. Krabs said that SpongeBob will be eaten, but people don't eat sponges.

Conch Signal:
Possible reference to the "Bat Signal" from "Batman."
Patrick: Hiho silver fish!
This is a reference to "The Lone Ranger", a TV show very famous in the '50s.
Patrick: We're going to play Hooky!
This is obviously a reference to the word commonly used when referring to somebody taking time off of school or work without permission. It is also Patrick's name for the game where you get caught by the hooks and then jump off.
Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy: Jingle Bells, Mermaid Man smells, Barnacle Boy laid an egg, the Invisible Boat Mobile lost a wheel and the Atomic Flounder got away.
This song is a cheap but funny remake of this remake of Jingle Bells for Batman and Robin.
