  • Just be grateful it wasn't gross throughout the whole episode unlike the Splinter and Pets or Pests.

In this episode, Squidward wants his house to look fancy so that it will be better than Squilliam's and will be featured on an episode of House Fancy. This episode was okay in my opinion. It was a bit boring in the first half when Squilliam was giving a tour of his house, but it was entertaining to see. Then Spongebob comes along and helps Squidward "improve" his house. Then comes the infamous toenail scene that is rather disgusting than funny. I never even saw the point of that whole scene. So the episode ends with Nicholas Withers (voiced by Alton Brown) seeing Squidward's blown up house and instead of hating it, Withers praises Squidward's house and features it on an hour long House Fancy special. So despite the first act and toenail scene, this episode was quite interesting.moreless
  • This is not what I want to see in the morning.

I watch SpongeBob every morning before school. I do not need to see Squidward's toe get ripped off and then his whole foot crushed before my day actually even begins. The old writers were so much better than that. The new writers, however, seem to be in a secret competition for who can make the grossest gags. By far the worst episode EVER to do this was The Battle of Bikini Bottom, which was almost nothing BUT gross-out gags. But this, The Gift of Gum, Pet or Pests and The Splinter all fare up well in this secret competition. Here's an idea: why don't they make a secret competition for who can make the BEST episode, like the old writers did?

0.25/10 (for the brief return of Squilliam)

UPDATE ON SEPTEMBER 10 (originally posted August 26) I saw this episode again today and STILL felt like vomiting when Squidward's toe got crushed!

UPDATE ON FEBRUARY 2: Nick has an upcoming show called Breadwinners that airs in 20 days. Today I found the pilot on YouTube and showed it to my family. EVERYONE HATED IT! They all said it was the worst thing they'd seen in their lives. And that includes The Oogieloves in the Big Balloon Adventure (2012), Spider's Web: A Pig's Tale (2006), and Rabbids Invasion. So I won't be surprised when Breadwinners gets a 1.9 just like Marvin Marvin here at and Spider's Web: A Pig's Tale at IMDb. My Aunt said I should rate it as low as possible just to get the score down. Unfortunately, the lowest one can rate is 1, unless you are a prolific author. I have been working on that for months (6 plus months), so I can rate stuff like Marvin Marvin, Fred: The Show, and The Oogieloves a 0.0. Breadwinners is next on my "to rate 0.0 once I can" list.

UPDATE ON FEBRUARY 18: Breadwinners premiered yesterday. I have reviewed it. It's bad but not as bad as Sanjay and Craig.moreless
  • a terrible episode

this episode tries too hard to be funny and fails every time, plus, any episode that makes you watch a character's toenail get ripped off due to another character's stupidity deserves a bad review (especially since this is supposed to be a cartoon for CHILDREN!!, i cringed at that scene, and im 16!!)
  • Squidward gets angry after he saw that Squilliam Fancyson was a television show about fancy homes

I thought that this episode of SpongeBob SquarePants was enjoyable. I can definitely understand the hate for this episode but I just had an okay time with it. It was really good to see Squilliam Fancyson again. There were funny moments in this episode indeed and the storyline is somewhat decent and pretty creative. My problems with this episode is that there is crude humor that isn't very needed, SpongeBob was getting a little annoying, and that toenail scene was just unnecessary, the execution felt a little weak here as well. It's an okay episode overall and not as bad as some people say it is but definitely not that good eithermoreless
  • Better Than Most New Episodes

I liked this episode, but I don't like how detailed and disgusting Spongebob is getting. For example, Spongebob running over Squid's toe was so gross that I have to close my eyes every time. I also don't like how they show the character's veins whenever they strain to do something. Yuck!
