SpongeBob and Patrick are at the Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy fan club. The president of the fan club announces that Trippy Brothers Studios are making the first ever Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy movie. But their filmic counterparts will be two young actors and that The real Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy were considered too old. SpongeBob, outraged by the fact that their superheroes are too old, goes to Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy's retirement home and tells them about the movie. Then, Mermaidman tells about his dream of being on the big screen. This inspired SpongeBob to make his own version of Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy movie with the help of Squidward, Mr. Krabs, Patrick, Pearl, Sandy and Plankton.

Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy six the motion picture was awesome. it was probably the best episode of season four.I liked Mermaidman's enemy the Kelp thing. he was cool. I also liked the animation. I liked it when mr. Krabs wanted a Krabby patty to be in the movie. It was funny how Plankton wanted to play Man ray. I loved Sandy as the Boom operator. Everytime somebody said boom, she blew up Mermaidman and barnacle boy. I also liked how Peral played the invisible boat mobile. Spongebob was gross when he ate the worms. spon gebob,s movie turned out funny but horrible.moreless

  • Okay episode but it did have a few hilarious moments

I thought that this episode was just okay... it wasn't a bad episode but it needed to improve more though. I didn't like it when those MermaidMan and BarnacleBoy actors told SpongeBob and Patrick that the real MermaidMan and BarnacleBoy are too old for acting. I didn't like it when Mr. Krabs wanted SpongeBob and Patrick to let the krabby patty be in the movie and didn't even bother to ask if Pearl can be in the movie as well. I thought it was funny when MermaidMan said that he couldn't remember the last time he started crying and then wondered how he was on the table. Sandy being the explosion lady was funny. It was hilarious when MermaidMan kept messing up his lines and it took him 5003 takes to finally get the line right. Squidward giving MermaidMan and BarnacleBoy a makeover was a disgusting and disturbing scene for me. I also found it hilarious when Pearl played as the invisible boat mobile and would make noise. I usually find Patrick funny when it comes to his stupidity but I didn't find it funny when he had the cap on the camera the whole time which means he didn't film anything. I also thought it was unnecessary behavior for SpongeBob to freak out and eat the worms from the dirt. I thought the MermaidMan and BarnacleBoy short film that SpongeBob directed was pretty funny. Overall, not a bad episode of "SpongeBob SquarePants" but this episode could have been better. 6.5/10moreless

  • HORRIFYING. Mermaid Man batters his partner while calling him a \"woman.\"

I was astonished to see Mermaid Man slap Barnacle Boy and yell, \"Get your hands off me, woman!\" How did this possibly make its way into an episode rated TV-Y? Without the word \"woman,\" this may have been only a somewhat typical example of cartoon violence. As it is, however, it is beyond sexist - it is a frightening depiction of domestic abuse that no one should have to witness in a cartoon aimed at children. It\'s even more horrifying because Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy essentially live together as a couple, and so this act of violence is an absolutely unfunny spousal battery. What on earth were the writers thinking? More importantly, why did Nickelodeon believe that this could be aired?moreless
