  • Good potential for Squidward, but of course it all falls apart at the end

Move it or Lose it summary: Mr. Krabs and Plankton try to gather signatures in order to prevent their restaurants from being bulldozed for breaking a city ordinance law. The main thing that starts the plot of this episode is that the Krusty Krab and the Chum Bucket are less than 100 feet away from each other, which is apparently against the law. I suppose that's feasible, but probably wouldn't happen in real life. So begins another generic Mr. Krabs/Plankton rivalry plot; nothing too special. The ending is pretty anti-climactic, too: instead of one restaurant being bulldozed, the Krusty Krab is just moved back an inch. this have been made a little clearer at the end of the episode? Basically, the only reason this plot began in the first place was because of poor communication. But that's not what I'm focusing on in this review.

Chum Fricassee summary: Squidward begins to work for the Chum Bucket, bringing people in with an old recipe of his grandmother's. This episode started out great, to be honest. Squidward finally gets fed up with Mr. Krabs' uncaring ways (at one point, Krabs says he doesn't value Squidward at all TO HIS FACE), and finally starts getting some success. It's a win for Plankton too, since it's his restaurant. Even Krabs is forced to admit that Squidward's Chum Fricassee tastes good. I was expecting Squidward's inflating ego to be his undoing by the end of the episode, and that would have been fine. What I DIDN'T expect, however, was Squidward's grandma barging in, exposing the fact that Squidward wasn't letting the food cook for the appropriate twenty-four hours, and basically telling the customers to beat her grandson to a pulp as punishment. So now even members of Squidward's own family want to make him miserable? And then, just to add insult to injury, Squidward goes back to work at the Krusty Krab at the end of the for Mr. Krabs to use him as a literal door-mat. What. And what exactly did Squidward DO to deserve all that abuse? All he did in this episode was protest against Krabs' negligent behavior and let all his newfound success go to his head. This did NOT make him deserve to be attacked by a mob incited by his own grandmother and be used as a door-mat by said neglected boss. This episode had so much potential, but then it turned out to be another "Squidward abuse" episode. Such a shame.
