I like this episode because its so funny and also it teaches you forensic Science!
  • Wonderful, much better than the one we had in 2010!

In this episode the Krabby Patty formula has been stolen. So Spongebob and Patrick go on an investigation and try to find out who stole it. Although I did (of course) dislike that scene where we find out that the whole time Mr. Krabs stole it after all those moments where he acted like he didn't steal it. And that's why my score lost 1 point. But even though I still hate how greedy Mr. Krabs is now, he did kinda deserve to give out Krabby Patties for Free. It was so funny how Spongebob showed how he thought Gary, Sandy, and Squidward stole the Krabby Patty formula. It was kinda odd that Plankton didn't steal it when its always him that steals it. Overall rating: (9.5/10) Amoreless
  • Not horrible, but definitely doesn't live up to all the hype

Summary: Mr. Krabs sends SpongeBob and Patrick to a faraway bank holding the Krabby Patty formula by train.

So, yeah, it's one of those "train mystery" stories. And like most overused TV show plots, some shows execute it better than others. In this case...well, they definitely could have done it a lot better. First of all, the commercials put way too much hype in the episode. According to the commercials, it was supposed to be this epic half-hour special about who took the safe deposit box key SpongeBob was supposed to be protecting. But is that what we got? Absolutely not.

First of all, even if the commercials were trying to make it seem like the contrary, this turned out to be another one of those "Plankton tries to steal the formula" episodes. Pretty much just having Plankton in the episode was enough of a giveaway. Second of all, there were a lot of things that didn't make sense. Namely, why would the Krusty Krab remain open when they were out of the main item on their menu? And are Krabby Patties so good that people are willing to riot in hysteria? At this point, it's almost as if Krabby Patties were the only edible thing in Bikini Bottom.

Third, the oneshot characters don't really add much to the story. Especially the French "butler" who, for some reason, is annoyed with every little thing that comes out of SpongeBob's mouth. But really, he never said what he actually was; all he kept saying was that he wasn't a butler. And then there's the whole "butler is a werewolf" scene which is the epitome of "Big Lipped Alligator Moment" (go to TVTropes or That Guy with the Glasses if you don't know what that means).

Finally, that "big, epic mystery" advertised in the commercials...only lasted for about a third of the episode. The whole second half of the episode was SpongeBob and Patrick trying to get to the bank before Plankton, who in the end, stole the key himself.

In the end, this episode is mostly a victim of false advertising. When you tell us to expect a big train mystery in our episode, we're expecting a train mystery in the episode! Not just another plot normally used in the show that's been overstaying its welcome in the first place.moreless

this eppy was amzing i thought it was plankton but no it was mr krabs who i did kinda suspect at first. at first spongebob gets the case with it inside but there is a hole so spongebob and patrick first go plankton it wasnt him he was eating a sewage patty LOL! then sandy they thought she'd go invisible stop time so she could quickly take it LOL! but she just bought them. then gary, they thought he would get a helicopter ride to the dilivery and use his eye lazer to make a hole and while spongebob was pulling his sock up he could quickly take it but he said he saw squidward. then they thought squidward because he was carrying a black case but it was his tap dancing shoes. so they go the krusty krab and tell mr krabs but he thinks spongebob done it by setting a fake spongebob out so the real spongebob can come in on a rope, grab the ingredient and diliver it to plankton, but in the end he sees it in mr krabs hand and he goes to court and has to give out krabby pattys for free for a whole while 2 police hold his eyes open so he has to watch the whole thing! LOL! it was a funny eppy and i hope more ones like this are coming.

FINAL GRADE A i didnt put 10 because it wasnt a very very good plot or well written or something, i just foubd it really funny, but still a good plot as well.moreless

7 out of 10 due to it being way too predictable, but it was a good episode.
