  • Great episode!

When I first heard what this episode was about, all I could think of is that it sounded too much like an episode in a previous season (I'm pretty sure it's in Season 5) but this episode was totally different! This episode didn't even really focus on Ros, but rather on the terrorists (An interesting change), with the so-called "Jury" in the episode being a really interesting Idea. Wouldn't most people vote someone guilty in a situation like this? It's really quite the moral dilemma. But the reason this episode blew me away was the ending. I was NOT expecting this characters death at all which really surprised me. This shows, yet again, the fragile nature of Spooks with it never being clear if a character will die or not. This certainly makes for a more interesting (And tense) show!

The one problem I really have with the new season though is the way that they've been treating Lucas. Last season, he was a dark shadowy and pretty awesome character but lately it seems like they're putting him in the background more which annoys me a bit and this relationship with the American girl is really irritating me. However next episodes promo looks Lucas-Heavy so I'm happy.

I hope many more episodes like this are yet to come.moreless
  • Claustrophobic tension

Spooks very best episodes have been those in a confined space, multiplying threats and time running out. This is one of those episodes.

Terrorists storm a meeting of the world's most powerful men, take them hostage in an unassailable bunker and then put them on trial. The only hope - Ros is there (unarmed and unable to contact her MI5 contacts). No backup besides MI5 means that Jo and Lucas are working to find a way in, as Ros is trying to find a way to resolve the crisis from the inside. The episode flew by - seemed like 10 or 15 minutes rather than an hour. High intensity, all our heroes at great risk, and no one else to trust.moreless
