Trees Please
AIRED:
In the first episode, the agents were sent to a fire fighting training facility. Once there, they had to stop E. Ville Dood's plan of spraying a stolen formula (The Denaturalizer) that would turn all the world's trees and plant life into stone. Challenge 1: The first challenge saw the agents use nerves of steel, technical know-how and spy stealth to recover vials of E. Ville Dood's upgraded formula which he had hidden at points throughout the training facility's burn house. But it sounded a lot easier than it really was because along with the hidden vials, E. Ville Dood had set up motion detectors that the agents had to both be aware of and then disarm. If any of the agents happened to set off one of the motion detectors, they had to make their way out of the burn house, reset the alarm and start again where they had left off. Seconds were precious in this challenge and the agents had to make every second count. Team Alpha and Team Gamma each managed to find 4 of the 5 hidden vials and dispose of them in the chemical disposal unit before the 5 minutes were up, while Team Beta had problems of their own and was able to locate only one of the vials and went over the time limit before completing their challenge. Challenge 2: After reports from the field revealed E. Ville Dood had already tested the formula and turned a plant into solid stone, the agents were sent to recover the stone plant so it could be delivered to the Spy Academy Technical Division for analysis and to uncover an antidote for the formula. The agents knew that the plant was hidden in a cell on the training facility premises but what they didn't know was the combination number of the lock to gain access. So the agents went roaring off on their assigned Rapid Triangular Transports following GPS coordinates that would lead them to clues as to the lock's combination. Each clue was a number for the combination to the lock. Team Beta was the big winner in this round by finding all 5 clues and unlocking the cell holding the denaturalized plant, while Team Gamma was able to find 4 clues and Team Alpha was able to find only 3. Challenge 2 ended with Team Gamma leading with 9 points, Team Gamma in second place with 7 points and Team Beta trailing with 6 points. Challenge 3: With Team Beta playing the role of "double agents" by switching sides to work for E. Ville Dood, Team Alpha and Team Gamma were on their own to find the location of the keys to the fire truck E. Ville Dood had filled with the Denaturalizer formula. Double agents, Team Beta, had slid in a fake clue to lead the other two teams off the track, but Team Alpha and Team Gamma weren't fooled for long. After assembling and examining the clues they had collected throughout the previous challenges, it was Team Gamma that was first to figure out that the keys were hidden in a burned out car, and they were off! But Team Alpha figured it out shortly after too, and the race was on to see who could get to the burned out car first. Just seconds ahead of Team Alpha, Team Gamma was able to get to the car first and ensure E. Ville Dood would never be able to use the Denaturalizer filled with the formula. Team Gamma was given the honour of being Spy Academy's very first Super Spies!moreless
