Had this Mathnet mystery unfolded in Feb. 1990 (as viewers saw it), it would not have been possible for Bette Davis to christen a garbage dump or for Irving Berlin to send a telegram. Both died in 1989. This would have been the ideal time to employ the use of a year in the Mathnet title. After all, from 1967 to 1970, Dragnet always had a year affixed to its title.
The Math-a-Thon sequences, both the Descartes interview and the estimation lecture, are recycled from Episode 304.
