Squaring The Circle

Show Summary

Squaring The Circle is a 1984 British TV movie from renowned playwright Tom Stoppard ("Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead"). This political drama captures the social upheavals in Poland as the country begins to rise up against the Soviet controlled communist regime. The story follows the rise of the Solidarity movement during the leadership of Edward Gierek (John Woodvine) through the harsher government of General Wojciech Jaruzelski (Richard Kane), as activists such as Lech Walesa (Bernard Hill) and Rulewski (Tom Wilkinson) unite workers and citizens to a socialist future.
